I come over here from time to time because there's usally some good topics but today you all have let me down. Come on BBN step up your bball forum game! And I've decided Archie is going to get IU to over achieve next year. Under Crean next year's team would have probably been a bubble team. Under Archie they'll most likely be a 4 or 5 seed. If they do any better than that he should be a coach of the year candidate.

The biggest Mistake iu made was getting rid of crean getting getting creaned. The man coached d wade and watford who is an Indiana icon. I'm sure they will retire his jersey. Olidiapo was a stud as well and we all know Cody seller was the best kisser on that team. I'm sure he auditioned for broke back mountain but due to NCAA rules he probably couldn't do it. Had crean been given 4-5 more years he would of easily made an eliete 8 maybe a final four. Dark times for iu fans
I hate ESPN now. I won't watch unless I just have to. Is Diallo the one that may be a none and done? I doubt he stays in the draft but if he does you still have like 7 all Americans. I'm sure you'll be fine.

That is, if you are actually interested in real conversation and not just in flaming us all. You are a Hoosier fan, after all, and even the most generous among us aren't likely to take too kindly to your snide comments.

I think you took it the wrong way. I definitely didn't insult the entire board if you read it light heartedly. I'm here quite a bit and never have any problems. This is a great board and I'll joke around some but it never goes beyond that. It's the off season so there isn't a lot going on in college bball. I didn't really expect there to be a ton of new threads.

You might want to pump the brakes on your expectations of Archie Miller. I mean, he's a good up and coming coach, but beyond "promise", what has he actually accomplished? Don't expect a 5 seed this year, I just don't see it, but hey, you do you.
I didn't either at first but I'm liking this guy more and more and he has a great staff. They won't be great next year but he'll get the best out of what's there and they'll be a good team. He's the anti crean. And since he's been at Dayton I think he's accomplished quite a bit. They've made the tourney the last four years and an elite 8. For UD that's very impressive. He just needs better players to make that jump and he'll get them at IU. I'm not saying he'll have a team full of 5 stars but you don't need that to make final 4's. Lots of 4 star guys with 2 or 3 five star and that's what he'll land, I believe.

I think the mess that Crean left is going to be extremely difficult for ANYONE to clean up in one season, but we shall see.
Yeah, Bryant is probably gone but Blackmon might come back. There is some talent there Crean just doesn't really know what he's doing. I'm not saying they'll be great next year by anymeans but under Crean this team would miss the tourney and Archie will have them ranked. That's how much better of a coach I think Archie is than Crean.

Honestly if anyone cared about IU on here I would be shocked no matter who is coaching them.
Perhaps I did take it the wrong way. It seems others did as well. Perhaps your lighthearted intent isn't as clear as you think. No worries though dubtown. You seem pretty harmless, but your first couple sentences up there could be taken as an attack.
Archie is a good coach and IU made a good hire. Whether that translates to success next year remains to be seen.
I've learned if you come to these boards in peace, be respectful, post some "hot" girl pictures sometime and be cordial without trolling or some other "internet tough guy" agenda this board will accept you usually with no problem. Good to have you.
I live in SW Ohio and I always liked Archie Miller as a coach at Dayton; even better than his brother Sean at AZ. Archie always seemed to get the most out of his guys!
As a 50+year UK fan I have always disliked Indiana (close but not to the PUKE or UL level) and I also hated Creanpuff. IMO, IU made a good hire with AM; he just needs some time.

Yeah, I think it's a good hire too. I believe in time he'll get IU to be one of the top teams year in and out again. But today I talked to my uncle who's in mensa so he's literally a genius. The guy is rarely wrong about anything. After Tiger won his last major he said he wouldn't ever win another one due to all his injuries. If you remember he won that US Open on a torn up knee. I thought he was absolutely crazy at the time. Back then Tiger was the best golfer the world had ever seen. I believe almost all people would have said he would still win many more majors...but as we all know now, Tiger hasn't. Anyways, he said Archie won't do much better than Crean. I really hope this is one of those very few times that he's wrong. But if he's right you all will be able to keep bumping that one thread you have going.
