FB Recruiting UK baseball moves into top 10

For this team to be in the top 10 in the country is simply amazing. This week will be a huge measuring stick with Louisville and Miss. State on the road. Thompson is going to have to grow up fast and keep the ball down on Tuesday and this weekend we better be prepared to hear a lot of noise from the State fans. Still a lot of baseball left on this season, but at least going 2-2 this week would be big. Right now we're 7-4 against the RPI top 50 and we'll have 4 more chances this week to improve upon that. It is weeks like this that are huge and will define whether we get into the NCAA tournament, and if we do, if we end up hosting.

yep, the rubber is going to meet the road in the next two weeks.

Agreed, pleasantly surprised with the season so far. Big games with UofL, and MSU this week.
I do not think we will necessairly see Thompson starting against the Cards tomorrow night, Schaenzer hasn't pitched since the Cincy game on the 28th, when he went 4.1 innings and was the winning pitcher. He has faced the Birds before , starting against them last season.
BTW another positive from this past weekend, the 3 game total attendance vs Vandy was 9,048 with only yesterday's game played in really good weather, the fan support is really picking up !

Is the tourney a good time? I'm just acquainted with the bball Tourney and football bowls. Even went to a couple women's tourney games. Never thought about going to the baseball. I guess UK would have to be good to make it fun? Hoover Alabama correct? Low key event or do fans show up and mingle in town?

The SEC baseball tourney is moving to Nashville in the near future, this will help UK fans a lot, as far as getting there. More centrally located for the rest of the league as well.

Well, check that, I googled it and it seems it will not be moving to the new park in Music City soon after all. The Hoover Met made improvements to that ball park to make it more similar to the stadium in Omaha.
