Fair IMO.

Arkansas and Alabama also re-enter the Top 25. SEC now with 6 teams ranked, the most of any conference.

Kansas at 6. Wow.

I get that Providence is 21-2, but #8? Villanova is #10? Please sweet baby Jebus give me one or both in the NCAA tournament.

If that ends up pretty much like that on selection sunday, and we're with a #1 seed, I can see us getting the East regional with Providence as a#2 seed and Duke as a #3.

It just looks like something that the NCAA tournament selection committee would do...

I can't get away from the idea that either that will be the tagline they will stick to us, or we will get the midwest as a #1 or #2 seed with Purdue as our #1 or #2.

Either way, I say bring it. This year, I really don't care, because it all comes down to how WE do, not in the minutiae of the seeding process or anything else.

Duke WILL be in our region. No way they're going to let K's last hoorah pass without a chance to take out Kentucky.

Duke will NOT be in our region. No way they are going to take a chance on K's last hoorah being an early loss to Kentucky.

Yeah, it is based on geography so that is how it will be. Just like in 2016, 2017, 2019 they stuck us with UNC as the 1 see due to geograpy. They will also look for made for TV matchups...Purdue is boring, so they will probably stick someone as the 3 in our bracket that is a more attractive Elite 8 matchup for UK name wise. (Maybe a UCLA if they can stabilize and stop losing?)

I agree on Duke in the East if we are there...and will the committee screw UK/Duke and put Nova in Philly as a 3 or 4 seed (probably a 3 at this point)? I would hope not, but who knows.

As a serious take on it, if we get a 1 we're probably the 4th 1 and go to Philly (Gonzaga to San Francisco, Arizona/Auburn to San Antonio/Chicago, and us to Philly). Then you'd probably see Kansas go to Chicago, maybe Baylor to San Antonio... pretty solid chance they do match up Duke as our 2 in the same city as the greatest college basketball game ever played, 30 years later.

No ire for Purdue? Basically lost twice this week. Michigan killed them and if not for late game heroics by the refs, they lost to Maryland yesterday on their hom court. Purdue is most overrated in my book. I think we're where we should be.
Yeah I thought that ranking was wack. Figured I'd get clobbered by "metrics guy" so I took a pass.

I am still not sure Arizona would not prefer to be the 2 out west. I know that means they are with Gonzaga, but Gonzaga hasn't played a good team since 2021 so Arizona could easily beat them.

I agree that it is most likely Gonzaga, Auburn and Arizona with 3 ones as of today. I find it hard to believe any of the 3 lose enough to lose a 1 at this point either...Auburn is the one most likely to lose 2-3 games (including SEC Tourney) but I think if they are 27-4 heading into SEC Tourney and make it to semi-finals at least they should be good for a 1.
