Forgot they lost Avery the LB. That’s a big loss. I think defensively they’ll actually be better but that’s a low bar to clear. Offensively, I think their RBs and line will be solid, Cunningham is good, but they lost two of their top three receivers from a WR unit that was below average already. Wide receivers who can’t put pressure on a defense will really hamper their offense. Why was last years' line so close...and now we do this?
What has changed?
1. UK is at home this year
2. What has UL added to that roster that is going to close the gap appreciably? Cunningham is back...which is great for UL...What else?
- They lose alot of WR (the Bama transfer)
- They lose their best LBer
- They lose one of their best CB (Florida St transfer)
3. UL will be solid but not great ACC...and then UK/SEC speed and size roll on the field and then what?
4. UK has potential holes at offensive tackles, corner back and maybe interior DL (If CRod is not on team....you can add power back)....the rest of team from last year to this year is same or better.
I don't bother to pay attention to their roster....but who are they adding to the roster that is going to improve them? Their recruiting has been pitiful under Satterfield. And in the end, UK smashes UL in the trenches....until UL has done anything there....what else really matters? UK will be damn good at the guards...by years end Goodwin, Flax and Buford...will have experience. On other side of ball...Hayes/Rogers, Rybka/Young, Oxendine with the eons of LBer depth......I don't see this really a hard game unless Levis is not able to play for some reason.
I've never bet on a sporting event, ever. Wouldn't know where to start but if this stays I'll ask for help to place my first. Go Blue.I agree with Roush.
Cunningham is good when he's not playing UK. We are his kryptonite. He's really struggled against us in the eleven years he's been playing. (or so it seems)Forgot they lost Avery the LB. I’d think a line closer to 16.5 or 17.5 would be more fair.
And will be again this year only to lose by 40 at least !12 months ago weren't they a fg favorite, lol?
Agree completely. Why was last years' line so close...and now we do this?
