I know what the problem is. Stony Brook isn't wearing blue uniforms. Baldy can't coach if the opposition isn't wearing blue.
Irrelevant. They will win that game, and play UK close/may beat us due to officiating at Vandy and may play us close at Rupp like last year.
FYI, Stony Brook is the favorite in the America East, same conference as Albany. Would still be a bad loss but not an RPI destroyer.
Posted this in the other thread but Stony Brook isn't bad. They are favored to win the America East, same conference as Albany. They are actually ranked ahead of 5 SEC schools on kenpom before tonight.
Meanwhile Vandy will turn into the Golden State Warriors when they play UK.
Looks like I might be wrong (that NEVER happens...yeah freaking right) as I said in another thread Vandy would win this game. This is why I never put faith in SEC teams OOC or in the NCAA Tourney. Having said that, I stand by my comments that Vandy will play us close everytime they play us and play like the Cavs/Warriors combined to one up Jersey

Vandy just tied it. I think they'll win it but I hate Vandy more than any other SEC team. Stallings gets that team up so high to play UK but nobody else.
Don't let it get you mad....I dunno what KenPom will say after all the games are played but preseason we play the toughest Non-conference schedule in the country. So we still have #1 seed locked up if we take care of business. It would be one thing if the SEC didn't prepare us to play well in the tournament. But Cal always has us playing well in the tournament whether the SEC sucks or is decent. Kansas fans would crawl over broken glass to play as well in NCAA's as UK has recently and they play in and always win a superior conference.
Me too, I'm tired of trying to defend this conference. These teams play well when they want to. I don't get it. Screw the two Mississippi schools this year, they flat suck. Hopefully Florida can do something because we need more thsn just UK, A&M, Vandy and LSU to do well.
FWIW Stony Brook was 86th in the KP, roughly equal to Tennessee. So, about as good as a bad high-major team. Still not an oppt that it's OK to keep in the game for that long if we're as good as we're supposed to be. Glad it's just one game.
AFAICT part of the problem was that Damian Jones got 3 early fouls which limited his minutes. I'm actually of the school of thought that you lose a lot by overreacting to foul trouble. It turned out he finished with three fouls, so effectively we wasted several minutes of his services just to guarantee having him at crunch time.

I gotcha sir...I love that the SEC is the best in college football and always watch the 3:30 CBS game each week. Give Howland and Pearl 1 more year and I think you will start to be more satisfied.
People can make excuses all they want...and a win is a win...but disappointing performance by Vandy tonight. Of course everyone has days like this, look at our game against Columbia, although that game was not nearly as close to this one. UK was up by double digits with like 9-10 mins left in that one and coasted.
Well, what do you know. Someone complaining about the officiating in a game not even played yet. What's up with that? You couldn't wait until tomorrow night vs Wright State?
Yeah they aren't a bad team.But anyone who doesn't look into the loss will see it as bad. But Vandy should be better though they still will give us fits in both games

Wow....I knew Syracuse was a little down this year but not that bad.
Too bad the RPI doesn't take into account that every team plays us at max effort. No matter how weak the SEC looks in the non-conference, we still get the tournament version of every team we play.
