UGO to K-State

He’s a great shot blocker but his other defensive instincts really lack. He’s coordinated but has no handle or offensive moves. He seems like he could be a monster but his liabilities are too bad right now. We shall see if he improves.
I don’t know how advanced stats factor in the attempted blocks that lead to an easy ORB and put back on the weak side but it seemed like he gave up at least as many of those as he had successful blocks. I think on-ball rim protection is a far more valuable ability than offball. These days the big men get so few paint touches that it means the on-ball rim protection is usually after a switch onto a guard on the perimeter, which puts the big men in a tough spot unless they’re really athletic.

He's simply a normal 4 year player. He's about where Richardson was his sophomore year, and with the previous coach if you wanted to develop and get better as a multi-year player you'd better do it yourself, because he would be focused on the newest 5 star burger boy coming through the door. Hopefully Tang can help him work on some sort of offensive reportoire.

I agree, I don’t know if Cal coached him to block everything but he tried every shot and that got him and all our guys out of position as much as it helped.

They’ll both be going all in on Coleman Hawkins though.
Just committed, got a 2 million dollar deal. Ridiculous for a player of his caliber. I know he’s good and proven in a big conference but that seems another overpay. Who is donating all this cash to K State because apparently they have a huge war chest.

He was illinois 3rd option. Giving him 2 mill screams desperation to stay relevant for Tang.

All about timing. He was the last big name left and had Osobor to thank for setting the bar high.
