GA will likely have to beat LSU and this is a much different LSU team than a month ago. Think LSU still has Arkansas/TAM....lots of football yet to play.UT far from a lock, couple tough games left. UGA and Ohio St. the only lock today IMO.
+1.Don't rule out unbeaten TCU or one loss USC/UCLA/Oregon. I think committee would like to have both to provide nationwide interest, rather than 2 SEC teams along with B10 champ.
ACC is definitely out, imo.
If both finish 11-1, both will have losses to UGA, but UT has the better resume by far, being 5-1 against ranked teams. Why UT? Oregon is playing crazy now.

Tennessee is 2-1 against teams currently ranked. Oregon is 1-1 but has 2 left to play plus, probably, another in the PAC-12 Championship Game.If both finish 11-1, both will have losses to UGA, but UT has the better resume by far, being 5-1 against ranked teams.
That will certainl help their case.Oregon will get a chance to beat a potential top 10 usc in pac 12 title game though and end up 12 and 1.
They go by rankings at the time the games were played, so UT is 5-1 against ranked teams.Tennessee is 2-1 against teams currently ranked. Oregon is 1-1 but has 2 left to play plus, probably, another in the PAC-12 Championship Game.
Broke my heart to see Ala go down , opening the door for UT .
Yep, that sucked so bad. Tennessee isn’t a lock though, I still think they f it up somewhere. They’re just not as good as their record indicates.
That isn't a true setup. The winner of the west could beat UGA. At that point, EweT would take 3rd position (at best) in the SEC. Then you have Oregon, TCU and the winner of the B1G. The SEC may only get 1 in this year. Way to many variables still in play. The pathetic ACC is out of it. Good.In the playoffs. Who will be the 4th?
You think they lose at home to Missouri or at sc or vandy? Just confirming you know that is their remaining schedule.
And to the other poster talking about chaos in the big 12....tcu losing a game is all tn and michigan need for them to be gone.
If 1 loss pac 12 gets in it will come down to Michigan or tn for the last spot. I'm not sure how wins over Penn state and Illinois trump wins over Alabama, lsu, Kentucky and Florida. I don't think the committee will either.
This will be the year they spread the wealth. Bama isn't out of it yet. On a neutral field they are the best team in the west. This is a really complicated year and proves the need to expand the playoffs. You think they lose at home to Missouri or at sc or vandy? Just confirming you know that is their remaining schedule.

What about the nailbiters they won? (Texas and Texas AM).This will be the year they spread the wealth. Bama isn't out of it yet. On a neutral field they are the best team in the west. This is a really complicated year and proves the need to expand the playoffs.
Bama losing 2 last second nail biters on the road shouldn't keep them out but probably will. The best teams are supposed to fight it out, not the best records.
Love for the SEC to get BOTH a 1 loss Ga and SEC champ LSU in the final four just to hear the explosive whining from b!g T!n crowdTell you what, I've been watching them all yr, and what LSU is turning into is a team that wins out & can beat Georgia in Atlanta. Jaden Daniels is a special kind of athlete. Matt House has their D playing physical.
Even with 2 losses, ain't no way an SEC champ is excluded.
Look for the Missouri upset.
UT will fall to at least 6, maybe even 7 or 8.Broke my heart to see Ala go down , opening the door for UT .
Same here, brother. Same here.I just need 2 things .. Tosu to not win the national championship , and UT to be no where to be found .
LSU now is nowhere near where LSU was a month ago but their games with Arkansas/Teas A&M will be wars. That's SEC football. You're right, Matt House has their D playing really well.Tell you what, I've been watching them all yr, and what LSU is turning into is a team that wins out & can beat Georgia in Atlanta. LSU with their win over Bama forces the committee to move them up in position (probably #5) just in case they win out and win the SEC championship game.
I know that is unlikely, but the committee is forced to prepare for it. UT has no way to climb the polls unless GEORGIA loses 2 games.
Not going to happen.
If you think that LSU would be left out of playoff if they win SEC championship and Georgia gets in instead, you are going to be in for a big surprise.Lsu won't be 5th. Come on dude. Tn beat them by 27 at lsu and has 1 less loss. If lsu somehow wins out, (they wont), then I think the sec probably just gets uga in and osu and michigan and maybe the 1 loss pac 12 team.
I predict tn is 4th or 5th at worse and that's only if tcu jumps to 4.
I would be surprised. LSU will likely have the same major problems that UT had, which was the ability to control the LOS scrimmage on either side of the ball. Based on the stat they showed after the UT-UGA game, the UGA D front pressured Hooker 20 times. He was pressured ony 19 times the previous 8 games, which included some pretty good D fronts, including Pitt, Bama. UK, AND LSU.Tell you what, I've been watching them all yr, and what LSU is turning into is a team that wins out & can beat Georgia in Atlanta. Jaden Daniels is a special kind of athlete. Michigans only quality win is at home against an overrated Penn State team . Michigan would be about like ole miss if they were in the sec . We would probably be undefeated with their schedule. They will be exposed . Probably against Ohio St. but definitely if they make the playoffs. In the playoffs. Who will be the 4th?
And that will be nothing new. Michigan was exposed in playoffs last year, but they got in anyway. Big 10 baby!!!Michigans only quality win is at home against an overrated Penn State team . They are the new Notre Dame , lol .And that will be nothing new. Michigan was exposed in playoffs last year, but they got in anyway. Big 10 baby!!!
Why would you say that ? It’s supposed to be the 4 best teams . I guarantee any of those teams would get embarrassed at Georgia. And LOL at you even suggesting an ACC team . I doubt ANY ACC team would have a winning record if they played in the SEC . Are you trying to make a joke ?I don't think you can put Tennessee in over a 1-loss Pac12, Big12 or ACC champion. We just saw Georgia dominate them, we don't need to see that again, let Georgia feast on other conferences in the CFP.
