UGA aligns in a ton of 2 tight end 1 back sets. (21 personnel) This results in defenses playing lot of cover 3 with 8 down in run support. So, Naturally UGA runs a bunch of cover 3 beaters such as flat/curl and flood routes. On video it appears it takes the QB a longer time to step, stride and release. There are open windows which are becoming tight as DBs are breaking on the ball and closing. Hopefully DBs are watching the front hand and are able to break when it releases from the football and will be able to make the catches more difficult.
Here is one example of their flat/curl concept. The H will run the seam and take the safey with him. #2 receiver will run an arrow to the numbers aiming to run out of bounds at 4 yards to widen the overhang linebacker. The #1 receiver runs vertical and will speed cut inside the widening linbacker and back down through the hallway.
Here is another version with an attached tight end instead of the H back.
Next is their flood concept. They run this off their stretch run. QB fakes the stretch to the RB and boots. The H back who would normally block the LB on their stretch away bypasses him and runs a flat route. #2 receiver away from the boot will run a cross route and flood the hook/curl zone defender.
here is the same flood from a 5 step play action instead.
There were some designed QB runs but the timing was off and it appears they were abandoned. I would expect with another week of practice UGA will be more polished and UK should anticipate a steady dose of misdirection keeps similar to Auburn and UT.
ON the clip above the QBwas reading the end man on the line of scrimmage. He widened with the Jet motion so the QB kept and ran inside. The H back sealed the SAM Tackle pinned the DE and Will missed the tackle. This resulted in a large gain.
