UCOnn celebration

That’s cute that you’re on a UK board after winning a title. Out of all the times Cal was rumored to go to another school, not once did I go to another school’s message board seeking validation.

Guess that’s the difference between living in the house at the top of the mountain vs a van down by the river; old money vs new money. Old money is confident in their place in the world; New money over flaunts and peacocks around trying to prove they belong at the country club
BUT DUDE LAST 25 YEARS!!!!

I’ll give them their flowers, no doubt they’ve had the most dominant run in the 2000s. It’s impressive. But it’s 25% of the history of the sport. Sustain it for 100years and then come talk…thing is, if you sustain it 100years they won’t feel the need to fund validation.

They're saying UK's old titles don't count, only titles that people were alive to see count. Can't wait until people start saying their titles don't count when there's a 4 point line, 128 teams in the NCAAT, and the shot clock is 20 seconds...

Dumbest argument in sports. Cherry picking time frames.

This is how he was able to have 4 awful seasons to start his career there and still be there and build the program.

Yep. Creating parameters and eliminating obvious arguments is a Socratic tactic. It’s what ppl do to control a narrative when they know they know they’d lose an argument otherwise.

In 1948 there were EIGHT TEAMS in the tournament. “Oh so that means it was easier” -Dumbass UConn fabs

Actually no it was harder to get into the tournament. You HAD to win your conference, and even then you weren’t guaranteed a spot. It was for a long time one team per REGION. That means the ACC, SEC, SOCON competed for one bid. It wasn’t until later expansions to 32 and 64 where teams who had not won their conference could make the tournament.

That’s a whole other topic that we don’t have time for here. I could bit by bit destroy the “State GDP” argument that’s so
Commonly used by Californians as well. It’s completely irrelevant data when comparing across a multitude of varying factors the differ state to state.

Quick example (it goes deeper than this though): CT has the 9th highest Cost of Living according to Forbes; KY has the 40th. Salaries are adjusted state by state according to locality pay and COL. Thats why engineers, Doctors, etc with equal edu/skills/experience will have varying income state to state and even city to city within the same state. Then those states flaunt it like it makes them superior all the while failing to realize they are too ignorant to understand basic macro and micro economics…but it makes fun little oneliners they can say. Thats why the exact same floorplan home in equal neighborhoods will be 250k in one state and 700k in another. Single variable comparisons of complex topics are useless.

Well I figured you guys are talking about us so much lately I'd stop by and laugh, I mean say a quick hello.
You should check your own forums. Of course you figured UK was talking about you. You knew where to come. The new boss? Same as the old one.

Well.... if one of us is in a van by the river it is probably the one who hasn't been to the mountaintop in over a decade. In fact I'm guessing that's a 12-year-old van down by the river. :D

I did. There was a post about how you guys were embarrassing yourself down here. I didn't believe it so I stopped by to take a look. I guess I owe that poster an apology.

I couldn't agree more with you. I think the "we used to be good a really long time ago" argument is perfectly valid. Sure, it's a little sad but it's perfectly valid.

You just won back to back titles, and you're on a KY board. Get out of here you quaker son of a bitch.

Yep, just came by to clear up the confusion about the celebration for you. But it sounds like that feels a little threatening to you. I understand it, though. It's been a rough road for you for a while now and throwing truckloads of money and still getting turned down by other teams coaches has to sting a bit. I'm sure it'll work out and you'll be just fine.

You have a good day now.

No one has turned anybody down. No one has been offered but Drew and maybe Hurley. Now scurry back off to New England.

Well, Danny's turned you down a few times now publicly. Don't worry, I'm sure you're find someone who is willing to head to Lexington and revive that fine slumbering tradition of success.

Coach speak is not turning anybody down publicly. Jesus christ.

Under the old rules UConn wouldn’t have half their titles that they won as low seeds by getting hot
