We face the #1 football team Saturday, at home, and no one is talking about it. Between the bad beats against Vandy and Michigan State, there appears to be zero momentum in the fan base right now. Me included. I had to scroll down to the 15th article on Wildcat Lair to see any mention of this week's game, and that was about the temperature.

The energy has been sucked out no doubt. At one point we are 4-0 with commonwealth (Kroger) absolutely rocking, then one by one the wheels came off the ship…… the non hardcore football fans…. And let’s face it we have to be hardcore fans to continue to watch this crap show

All the casual football fans had already threw in the towel on football thinking one of the (if played right) best shooting and just overall better teams in the nation was at our disposal then proceed to come out and have a absolute abysmal game, in which we see cal continually coach like he doesn’t even know what a basketball is….

The UK fan base is very fickle......or as Mitch said, "microwave." Following losses there are people who are ready to clean house and have meltdowns. Sure, right now its warranted. Things have been a disappointment this yr. But even last yr......we were 7-1.....with wins against UF and #6 LSU......then got beat by #1 UGA.....and there were a good number of people who were miserable. In contrast, when we went 4-0 to start the year and beat UF there were many who were shouting for a trip to Atlanta.

Winning cures all ills and I don't think one is a "fair weather" fan to feel that way. Then there's the "what ifs." "What if" Brown had gotten set a tenth of a second sooner at Ole Miss and the Levis to Key TD pass had been the game winner? "What if" Wallace had made both FTs vs Michigan St at game's end? The football season would've almost assuredly unfolded much differently and BB would be on the way to a great year. Need positives to happen.

The weather threads are always the most important HAM 🍺

We may okay well, but we’ll lose.
Hoping for bright spots and no injuries.

I didn’t realize we lost to Mich St but probably did! 😅

But losing to Vandy crushes the souls of fans. I think a win against Vandy, a decent performance against UGA, and a win against UofL (8-4) and most fans would be ok. Maybe not the dream season, but likely a top 20 team and Florida Bowl and people don’t have a terrible foul taste in their mouth.

But now lots of doubts about the UofL game and a loss there and Stoops basically looses credibility about “building the program”.

We tend to play either up or down depending upon our opponent (ok, UT game excepted). Who knows, maybe our guys get up and show up. Not expecting a win but would love to see some fight in our team. If we roll over, then the Louisville game becomes a toss up.

The momentum is, as always, with the fans that cheer for their football team come heck or high water. The rats have left the ship, but that's what they do. If we win, you won't hear much from them (except whining that we lost to others). If we lose, they won't shut up about it even when we're big underdogs.

Ssdd being a UK Football fan.
........

This game has nothing to do with the next game and nothing to do with the game last week. It has nothing to do with next year or last year. It's about what happens tomorrow. That's it

LSU was ranked 16th for 168 hours last season. 6-0 heading to Athens and was 6-3 after losing at MSU and vs. UT.

Great report on LSU
Thank you. I have a blackjack memory. They lost to UCLA to open the season. The game was televised on FOX. They finished dead last in the West last year. Did you know they’re going to Atlanta this season…they’re playing UGA for the fifth time there.

Let's be honest...for the most part our early season cupcake schedule has produced a false sense of potential greatness. Remember 2014 and 2015? 4-0 and 4-1...SEC network talking us up... finished 5-7 both years with close losses then a Tennessee blowout that sent us realing. A couple of 10 win seasons is about all we have had. It's not going to cut it. Kentucky wants to be good in the SEC simply because it's a football dominated conference. I actually think many fans would auction off their basketball season tickets to get to a SEC championship game or a playoff.

They also said this is unacceptable and we are finding a new coach. We are not at that point now, but with a few bad year's of NIL and continued poor play on offense we may be heading that way.
