Tuesday CBB games on TV featuring Alabama at Florida (-1.5)

Also bama is worse defensively than Kentucky is and doesn’t have the elite playmakers Kentucky does
Both are terrible defensively, and aren't great enough to overcome prolonged shooting slumps against more stout defensive or balanced teams, as we've seen throughout the year.

Trends don't bold well for us with how bad our D is.

If Florida wins tonight they will finish the year 14-1 with their only home loss to Kentucky.

I am not sure how much the committee looks into that sort of thing but that should mean our win should count even more since we were the only team to beat them on the road.

Right now Auburn has only 1 home loss as well and of course vs Kentucky again we should get extra credit for that when you are the only team to win a game at a place that has never lost another.

Miami made a final four last year with a worst defense than Kentucky has

The dummy for Florida just cost them 2 pts the ball was already thru the top of the rim and he just grabs the rim to cost them 2 pts.

How was Bama the #9 overall 2 weeks ago when the NCAA gave their reveal ?

That is what makes it annoying they were #9 and we were like #24 we have had a lot of ground to gain to pass them but this is their 10th loss

South Florida in a dog fight with Tulane in a must win game to have any chance at an at large bid with a really weak profile

They have zero chance at an at-large IMO- happy to be proven wrong since they are the hometown team but their schedule was abysmal.

Would have should have been a nice feather in our cap to have swept them (and we would now have a top 3 seed locked up in the SEC tournament assuming a Vandy win)

Sigh just foul up 3 Cal..................
Or if Rob holds his follow through on the ft and puts them up four they win as well

Alabama is a good team. But their resume is weaker than UK’s. Didn’t win a meaningful non conference game unless you count Oregon and and Indiana State. Played some good teams tough but lost every game. Their best wins were in Tuscaloosa.

Pros - they did beat the teams they were supposed to beat.

We also beat them 117-95.

This is true but if they win their next 2 that will be winning their conf by 3+ games that has FAU and Memphis in it and they will have won 22 out of their last 23 games.

Georgia about to beat Bama putting Arkansas 1 step closer to our possible opponent on Thursday if we end up the 5 seed.

Purdue is going to win. But wow, I hope we play them as the 1!! We would run their guards into dust.

I am pulling for Florida, since Alabama is a team we are seed-battling with. And I think they have a good chance. Nelson just doesn't impress me. He's ok, but that's it.
Other "big" games tonight for us I think are:
Purdue at Illinois. Hopefully being a home game, even though Purdue is top 3, an Illinois loss lets us slip ahead of them. Illinois along with Duke and Auburn are the 3 teams ahead of us that just don't make sense. Couldn't believe hearing Lunardi saying Duke could be a 2-seed along with UNC. I mean, yeah maybe if they win their next 5, but otherwise hell no.
K St at Kansas. I know, it's at KU so should be a win. But in rivalry games, you never know.

Then tomorrow:
UConn at Marq. Should be a good game, espeically if that Marq guard can play, but I think they have cemented themselves to at least a 3 seed, but probably a 2.
UT at USC. Had UT beat them at home, I would have given USC a better chance in this game. But I think UT wins, big. But if USC can pull off this upset, and then win at MSU Saturday and do well in the SEC-T, they may be in contention for a 3 seed.
BYU at Iowa St. Hoping BYU can pull off another road win after winning at KU last week. Like USC, they've done well in-conf, but not impressive non-conf, so anything to drop them off the 3-line.
I believe Kolek is out again for Marquette.
