Tubby's firing at Minnesota was always a head scratcher....
March 2007 - Tubby hired at Minn.
2007-2012 - NIT's and first round flameouts at Minn.
July 2012 - Tubby gets 3 year extension
March 2013 - Tubby wins first NCAAT game since arriving at Minn.
March 25 2013 - Tubby fired by Minn. - ????
The AD Joel Maturi that hired Tubby retired ,,The slime ball that fired him gave him big raise Tubby told me(we are close friends) that the new guy wanted Shakka Smart..He took the Texas job..Tubby got a $3 Million Dollar buy out,,Tunny will retire after this season ..He will be 65 and move back to Lexington..He likes living there just not coaching there..
Tubby had a pretty stacked team his last year tho . They probably thought that if he didn't make any noise with that team he never will.

That's like firing Rich Brooks after winning the Music City Bowl. 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament is a great accomplishments for Minnesota basketball.

That's funny. I like him living there but not coaching there. Win win.
Doesn't look like he's going to be any more successful than Tubby. Best players in Minnesota are going to bigger schools.
Tubby would of been a better NBA coach. There is a lot more time for family and friends in the NBA than in the NCAA because of recruiting.
