Tubby Smith honored with Wooden Legends in Coaching Award

Yeah I'm calling Bull$hit on your " Listen to me , I'm somebody! " claims. But anyway
What is your excuse for the tubster when he had teams with great talent . The Jason Parker , Prince , Bogans teams , the Rondo , Crawford , Morris. , Bradley teams ? When tubster had talent tubster had team turmoils. THAT is why he wouldn't try to recruit at a high level . Let this sink in , AFTER 1998 IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT, TUBBY NEVER WON A GAME AGAINST A TEAM WITH ABOVE A 6 SEED !
Feel better because you have a CAPS key:chairshot:

Tubby didn't like AAU ball..George Felton was the Coach with AAU connections and when he left Tubby's recruiting went South I agree I know every player on 1998 team and they all say that Pitino could not have won with that team..Facts are Facts..UK Will retire a jersey for him. It's already in the Works I'm on that committee..and He will make the Hall of Fame..So move on.

Tubby was a good man and coach, the last 6 years he didn't have a staff that could recruit. And saying that Pitino couldn't have won with that team is silly. Sometimes facts are fiction.

Tubby had success early with someone else's players. Couldn't recruit, couldn't coach after that.

I can't support putting Tubby in the rafters when he ended up practically ruining UK basketball and made many long time fans almost quit watching.

Wrong again....The 2002-03 team was all his recruits. It was also his best team, even better than 98 Pitino leftovers that won the NC.

I would honor Tubby partly due to the fact that I have never heard him say anything negative about UK even after he left and reporters tried to bait him to say something negative. When they told him how much Cal was being paid. He responded, "It's a free market." He had good things to say when Bill Keightley died as well.

Mr Wildcat really liked Tubby and the feeling was mutual...
