Adolph Rupp was forced to retire in 1972. The University said it was because he was 70 years old and that was the mandatory retirement age for University employees. While that was true, an exception most certainly could’ve been made. However, UK had not been to a Final Four in six seasons and we had not won it all in 14 seasons. So, it was time for Rupp to leave.

That was Adolph Rupp, folks. At the time he was clearly the greatest collegiate basketball coach in history. But, it was time for him to go. He fell victim to the expectations that he himself created, and that the fans now demanded.

Now, fast forward 51 seasons. UK has another hall-of-fame coach that created outlandish expectations because of his early success. But guess what? If we don’t make the Final Four this year, the drought will reach nine seasons, tied for the longest in this program’s history. And the championship drought will reach 11 seasons.

Some of you say fan expectations are unrealistic. I feel the exact opposite. It’s fan expectations that keep the administration from becoming complacent, and ensures that we start over even when it’s controversial.

And for this particular fan, it’s time to start over with someone new.

Cal is not going anywhere until he wants to.

So ok, impose the 70 year old thing. That’s 5 more years.

UK will be fortunate for Cal to coach more seasons.

Nor was Rupp on top of the college basketball world when forced out. Cal is.

But a minor correction. Rupp was the best ever then. And Rupp is still the best ever today.

What some call “modern basketball” today, Rupp was doing 70 years ago. He completely changed the game.

Someone needs to explain to me how Cal is on top of the basketball world.

Every post you make gets dumber and dumber. Just post less.

For me, it's more than just the Ws and Ls. The really embarrassing Ls. The droughts. It's deeper. It's the not prioritizing Kentucky winning. It's unabashedly putting players above the program. It's the smug remarks from Cal. It's the 'who cares' reactions to lackluster seasons. It's the disdain for the fans. And quite honestly and sinply put, a lot of the fun is just gone. For those reasons, not the Ws and Ls, I want a new chapter of Kentucky basketball to begin.

This has to be satire. Has to be.

Well done rainman
