He’s leaving fox for Monday night football. New York post is reporting Amazon Thursday football and fox might make a strong push for mcvay. This would suck with the coen situation.

This might be why there hasn’t been an “official” announcement regarding Coen to Rams. If Mcvay is leaving, there is no guarantee a new Rams HC would retain current staff. Coen could be “the OC who never was” for the Rams and out of a job.

Best course of action is to wait out the situation until mcvay gives a final yay or nay. Coen might say “screw it, I’m staying with the most stable program”—the Big Blue.

GBB!

Troy was the backup plan to Coen. He had accepted the OC if Liam refused.

he is not on the shortlist this time

I don’t get the draw to Monday night football. It’s viewership is not that good anymore…honestly Sunday night nfl game is way better
It's never been the same after it was shipped from ABC to ESPN and hasn't helped that they haven't been able to find a good broadcast team in two plus decades now. It just had a bigger feel to it when it was on ABC vs ESPN. Also, now you have Thursday night football, Sunday Night football, etc. Those factors have changes the dynamic for MNF IMO.

Money is money, but I would also want a great play by play guy to complement me. ESPN does not have that, not even sure who the play by play guy is. I am not even sure who the MNF commentators are...ESPN has sucked with that the last few years for sure.

Not just that, but you can tell MNF sucks the hind tit when it comes to scheduling. They might have 2-3 games a year at the most that are compelling enough for a casual fan to watch. I mean, I generally don’t care to stay up on a weeknight to watch the Lions-Eagles or some similar lame matchup.

The best broadcast team for Monday night is Manning & Manning

Saw one twitter report that suggested ESPN would try to hire Buck as well. Not sure how true that is though.

Buck to me is a baseball first guy due to his father...so as long as Fox has the World Series I can see him staying there.

Just like Jim Nantz loves doing the Master's/golf the most from things he has said in the past and not NFL/March Madness.

Monday Night will always be important. I am not a gambler, but that is the last game to win back all that was lost on earlier games in some folks minds.

Speaking of NFL broadcasters, it looks like Amazon has settled on Herbstreit to do its Thursday night games. Also, appears he will continue his college duties at ESPN as well.

I don't understand his appeal. He always has a very basic and no sh1t Sherlock calls which I guess is interesting for the viewer that knows zero about football. He's like a monotone boring no charisma John Madden.
