I don't think it's UofL because they are a first-rate institution with high moral and educational expectations.

Most likely UNC and Duke. Without looking I think Duke went to 5 straight at one point in the K era so probably during that run.

RIP Mel. Fun story-
While living on campus, coach actually paid a student manager to sit outside Mel's room to ensure Mel didn't sneak out to get food. Dude was big, and he liked to eat. Mel, being as hungry and as focused as he was on eating, decided to pay the student more to sneak him fast food behind coaches back. Mel told me that story not long before he passed. Man he laughed about that. He was truly a nice guy.

LOL, I believe it. One night me a buddy were cruising the EKU Bypass in Richmond, ( I live here), and we stopped at Burger King, and lo and behold there was Mel and another guy almost as big as Mel.( IIRC, someone said he had a brother about as big as Mel, not sure though).

Anyway, we got our food and went to the car to watch these guys. They EACH ordered 3 Whoppers, 3 orders of fries, and a couple of large drinks. They came out and ate in their car while we ate in mine and watched them. Big old boys ate every bite, lol.

We did on here after UNC won the title game and no one could find one better. We figured maybe Bill Bradley or someone like that but no one did it against a champion.

My memory of Mel was watching him drive around campus after the '84 season in a new Trans Am...Smoky and the Bandit version; black w/ t-tops. I'll never forget watching him drive that thing down the street while looking out over the top of the windshield; head seemed to be sticking out of that open roof about 8-9 inches. Looked like Herman Munster. lmao just thinking back on it now

The game that comes to mind for me was Prince scoring 42 (I think) on Tulsa. That's the biggest game I can remember, but probably not the record.

Edit: I looked it up...Prince score 41, just like Goose did. However, there's one better out there.
