You have to understand that flopping is part of the defensive strategy for Duke. Has been for years.

The idea is, if you hit the floor, the refs will blow the whistle and if you play for K it is assumed that you drew the charge most of the time.

That is a defensive strategy. Like it or not. And it is effective.

......and it is destroying College Basketball. Offensive fouls are being called at an alarmingly high rate. It's beyond ridiculous. If the NCAA wants to increase scoring and make the game more entertaining, they need to return to making the Charge/Offensive Foul more difficult to obtain.

What makes this even more difficult is the fact that a referee's favorite call is the charge. So, in this day and age of "Look at Me" Refs, K has tapped into the ego of these individuals that love to make a dramatic call.

The glut of Offensive Foul calls hurts our athletically superior brand of basketball moreso than any other program.

Duke will struggle defensively next season, but I doubt it will be because of Duval.

Duke's had a very good defensive team in about half of the years in the past decade.

It's tough to consistently elite defensively when you recruit so many OADs unless they have a special proclivity to playing great D due to their athleticism: MKG, Winslow, Davis, etc.

It takes a few years, especially for big men, to master defensive fundamentals and compete on that end of the floor.
