Just a reminder that Travis Perry did flash in SEC games this season. People on this board love to write this kid off but he's going to be a contributor.
Does need work finishing at the rim. But my goodness, he had 3-4 layup attempts this year where he got absolutely hammered and there was no call. He’s a great shooter and solid ball handler. Needs to work on his passing and ability to finish at the rim. That being said I felt like he caught a bad whistle all season. Seamed like everytime he got clobbered at the rim they wouldn’t call a foul. But he has a ton of potential.
Exactly. He caught the worst whistle of anyone on the team. Got called for several weak fouls on defense but would get destroyed at the rim on offense and no call.Does need work finishing at the rim. It’s because he’s so small, unless you’re a dynamic athlete that gets up high it’s hard to get those calls sometimes. I think he will be a solid player at some point but his athleticism and size is what it is. That’s why he has a ceiling especially defensively. He’s a great shooter and solid ball handler. I’d say Oweh got a way worse whistle considering he had way more rim fouls opportunities that didn’t get called even with blood on his face.Exactly. He caught the worst whistle of anyone on the team. Patrick Sparks played in a massively different SEC than what Perry has to play in. This is truth. Big big difference unfortunately. I love the kid but if he gets double digit minutes I don’t think that is a good thing.Travis Perry and Patrick Sparks are the same size.... both 61' and 180ish
I am still high on players like Noah & Perry. They were freshmen who showed some glimpses of their potential, while struggling as they develop their game in the tough SEC. They will be contributors before they leave. Great for player retention to have around the program for 3-4 years. They get an offseason to improve after some experience this year. Looking forward to seeing what they do as sophomores.
He has to do what Cameron Mills did before he got playing time. He got it unbelievable shape. He jumped higher, his shot was released higher, he could run all day long. He had the will power to change his body, not easy to do. He has to want to get stronger, lighter (more muscle less body fat), and then finally get his cardio up to elite level. Heck every person has it in them. If you do not think so, try going to basic training in the USMC or ARMY. Everyone can do way more than they think their bodies can.
When he injured his shooting wrist/dominant hand against Alabama in the SEC Tournament?massively faded soon after. Was literally unplayable in the post season.
I must say, “ton of potential” ain’t the words I’d ever use for Perry. But he has a ton of potential.
Perry I feel is signed up for the long hau he knows what he’s up against. Seems like a guy like him would go to wku or somewhere close for a couple years, start, get game experience then transfer in to UKFor UK fans it's been a long time since we've seen real freshman grow over 3-4 seasons.
Perry is going to get stronger he has world class facilities and coaches. He clearly can shoot the basketball and fininishing as mentioned will come with experience and strength.
No one is going to fault Perry if he wants to jump ship and get 25+ min a game somewhere else.. but I think having him and Noah for 4 years would be special.
Pat Pat never saw 6 ft unless he was on a stool.Travis Perry and Patrick Sparks are the same size.... both 6'1 and 180ish
% says Noah was .009 better than Perry. No offense to Perry, but he and noah arent even in the same conversation at the moment. Noah was arguably our best rebounder, definitely best 50/50 ball player, finished several shots at the rim, way more physical, was a noticably better shooter than Perry, and is still growing. Noah was always a positive.
Noah will probably see minutes next year. Perry is just a long way away.
Preach on brother im all 👂 nice postJust a reminder that Travis Perry did flash in SEC games this season. People on this board love to write this kid off but he's going to be a contributor.
Yup he has fallen into the old man body. I have about the same shape. lolCameron Mills is still in unbelievable shape. It’s unbelievable the shape he is.
Perry a legit 6 2. Took a picture with him. Pat Sparks was 5 9 or 5 10. I was taller than him.Pat Pat never saw 6 ft unless he was on a stool.
But he was a player.
Maybe Travis will be one too.
I may resemble that remark a bit at this point.Yup he has fallen into the old man body. I have about the same shape. lol
He announced right after the tourney. Just not a major public announcement. He did so in an interview. He could always change his mind though.Did Perry announce he is returning yet?

Noah 36 att. Perry 53.
Takes a sharp eye to notice that.
Other than that, I agree totally.
