Definitely needs lots of refining. Unlimited transfers plus NIL is a joke. They should be some rules and regulation to help ensure the school and player both get what they need. Guaranteed payment, and guaranteed roster stability. Thanks, OP.
The portal regulations (or lack thereof) need a complete and immediate overhaul. No team should have to deal with potentially losing every player on their team. Not even Duke.
I don't claim to know the answers, and it's definitely a slippery slope, with legal ramifications at every turn. But players went from having no leverage whatsoever to having ALL the leverage. The answer should be somewhere in between. But, given where we're at right now, athletes will probably continue to have all the power.
It doesn't seem like so long ago, the NCAA ruled a school couldn't provide cream cheese with a recruit's bagel. Some of you will likely remember that. And now look where we are. Crazy times.
Many weak links in this chain.Definitely needs lots of refining. Unlimited transfers plus NIL is a joke. They should be some rules and regulation to help ensure the school and player both get what they need. Guaranteed payment, and guaranteed roster stability.
