Towles finally put a complete game together. This is the first game we've seen his full potential. If he can consistently play like this, he will be all SEC next season.

Do you think this is an aberration? Or do you expect this kind of game as the norm now?

22 of 27 for 249 and 2 TDs and zero picks. Oh and he had 9 rushes for 21 yds and a TD.
But lets put in Barker!
:flush:
Should win SEC player of the week but they
will give it to the LSU back v an avg Syracuse team.

The Barker fan boys will get their wish in the 2nd half against EKU next week.

As for the OP's point. who the hell knows. I am just going to focus on tonight, the here and the now. I would hope Towles plays well against EKU (I-AA) and at home against Auburn (who sucks on D).

Over the last few wks I've heard things from some posters that basically say that he "can't" be accurate and read defenses. He obviously can. His biggest problem is consistency. Well, what improves consistency?....playing time and a consistent supporting cast.

So, if you're expecting consistency the rest of the yr you'll be disappointed. The o-line, the WRs, the RBs, Dawson, Towles have ALL been inconsistent. This yr we are gonna have to scratch and claw to a bowl game.

Hooray for the entire offense. They did decent tonight. Congrats and continue to work.

A special shout out to Dawson. Against Florida you didnt adjust. The pressure was tremendous and you did very little. Tonight, your game plan was much better. You let Towles run. You rolled Towles out to get him away from pressure. You moved the pocket left/right to mask coverage. You made snap spread throws to the sidelines. You sent your best route running WR (Juice) on routes across the middle rather than target the outsides so much.

Glad to see them playing loose and having fun. Towles played a great game tonight.

Getting him out of the pocket, throwing the ball down the middle of the field, TE getting catches, and JoJo running the ball well. All of this plus the D playing tough is enough. Good win.

Had to laugh when the side line reporter asked if he was going to turn his social media back on, and he said absolutely not.

Yes, definitely saw Dawson letting Towles run the ball more and rolling out the pocket. More creativity by Dawson helped Towles.

Really? We've won three games with EKU, Vandy, and Charlotte remaining. Not to mention Louisville who looks down. It'd be a shame to be optimistic on this board.

Exactly. UK is 5-1 right now in my mind (EKU and Charlotte are as close to 100% wins as possible. They are not ULL).

Tier 1: Vandy, UL and Auburn (probably wins to very good chance to win IMO).
Tier 2: MSU, UT and UGA (probably losses, although UK could be in a couple of the games and maybe steal one).

I'll explain. Before this yr began the vast majority of fans predicted 5-7 wins. That means that the vast majority expected that the margin of error to make a bowl game was small. This is yr 3. We went 5-7 last yr. Expecting us to cruise easily to a bowl game was unrealistic.

So, here we are now. We have a defense that is just now starting to click well. The offense is young and very inconsistent. Even in the same game we can have 1 half where our offense looks good and 1 half where it struggles a lot. And during the rest of this yr we can expect more of the same. There are going to be times this yr when we look fantastic and times when we don't. We likely to pull a good upset on someone but likely to get trounced by someone.

In essence, it won't be a cakewalk. We should make a bowl but it's not a given. We are going to have to fight, scratch, claw to get things done.

True. I predicted 6, maybe 7 wins before the season. That's still probably our range unless some crazy stuff happens and we start beating everyone in the conference.

Moreover, it's not pessimistic to say that will be fighting hard for a bowl. Whether we get 6 wins and a bowl or 8+ wins and a bowl, our boys will have fought as hard as anyone to get there.

Not eye popping #'s, but really good one's. Great "eye test" performance. He just looked a lot better, and in control of things. You know like a QB's supposed to be.

Definitely a big win. At this point I can't see UK not winning six. The rest are opportunities to make a better bowl. First up Auburn. Before the season I had that one an automatic loss. Not any more. I'm expecting no let up for EKU. A nice big win would be good for the team. 4-1 sounds pretty good to me.
