Kam Jones might be the best guard in the country plays for Marquette. Chaz Lanier is a combo guard that plays for Tennessee and we recruited the heck out of him from the portal.
Surely these figures will start to level out. It can't be sustainable right?
Was watching Fox News and they talked with Tommy Tuberville about this. I believe there will be some changes next year. JMO
Kills the narrative from Tennessee fans that they beat us out for Lanier without having to pay him top dollar. Looks like we forced them to dig deep and it actually seems like we nearly pulled it off while offering way less.

Good. This is disgusting. It needs to be contractual, and multi-year, getting part of it at completion of each and based on meeting criteria.
Edit: it seems to me that there needs to be a cap, and based on player ranking at position, and I really would like to see something like a minimum of two years. Get half of it after year 1. If a kid only wants to play one year in college, and is willing to go to some garbage school, then let him or just allow kids to go straight to the pros from high school again.

My understanding was that it was a very, very competitive recruitment down the stretch.
Number 5 is averaging 23/6/3 for Memphis so he was a good investment as was Lanier. Honestly everyone on this list has preformed amazingly.
We should have bid more because he is exactly the kind of guard we are missing.
Yeah I unfortunately have to agree. I thought him and Robinson would be about equal in value to us and boy was I wrong. Lanier is exactly what this team needs.
We offered him a Huddle House franchise. We low-balled it.
Lanier is sadly one of the top 5 players in the country IMHO
