I wish that would happen. Kentucky would have a Duke-like region. In other words it will never happen. Switch Duke and UK and it might be right.

I'd love a region with Nova, Terps and UVA ahead of us.

I would take that hypothetical Duke bracket in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I don't think they'll put UK in Louisville, so I'm actually hoping for the West bracket. It's the weakest nearly every year.

If we win out, we will get a 3 seed. 2 if a lot of guys projected in front of us get beat.

Updated a bit for Nova loss and a couple of other changes.

1. Xavier
2. Michigan State
3. Oregon
4. Duke

East
1. Virginia

Please please please give us Nova and Virginia. We'd beat the snot out of both of them. I'll take Maryland and Iowa too. I don't need any of Oklahoma, Mich St or Miami.

I'll take it.

This year is gonna be crazy. I still think a blueblood wins it, but man it's open. When I tinker around with this, which I love to do, I try to balance them out. Hope the committee does as well.

One thing of note. West Virginia would not be able to go South in that senario since Oklahoma would block them.

Other then that it looks good tho

Heck, I'll throw in the 5's:

West
1. Oklahoma
2. Iowa
3. Oregon
4. Duke

East
1. Villanova
2. Virginia
3. Maryland
4. Kentucky

Midwest
1. Kansas
2. Michigan St.
3. Miami
4. Arizona

South
1. Xavier
2. North Carolina
3. West Virginia
4. Indiana

I think Michigan State and/or North Carolina would get 1's now - probably both over the two Big East teams.

I'm thinking they'd go:

West
1. North Carolina
2. Maryland
3. Kentucky
4. Oregon
5. Baylor

East
1. Michigan State
2. Virginia
3. West Virginia
4. Arizona
5. Texas A&M

Midwest
1. Kansas
2. Villanova
3. Iowa
4. Indiana
5. Duke

South
1. Oklahoma
2. Xavier
3. Miami (FL)
4. Purdue
5. Utah

You guys really think 2 Big East teams will get 1 seeds?

**I don't...heck, if the season ended right now I bet neither would get 1's and if one did I bet right now it would be Xavier....I'm pretty sure that right now Michigan State would be getting a 1.

I'm not seeing it.
I think right now it's Oklahoma Kansas Virginia and then either Villanova or Xavier.

I think the big east gets just one of the 1s

If UK goes to the East and plays Villanova that would be a home game for Villanova if they matched up. If UK doesn't go South I would think the West would be the best case scenario because you would potentially get the weakest 1 and an overrated Oregon team in that region.

Switch Kentucky to the South where they belong and UNCheats to the East and I'd be happy

If they stick to the whole geographical pod tune, I'd go with this:

West
1. The Buddy Hield's
2. Iowa
3. Oregon
4. Arizona

East
1. Crying Piccolo's
2. U of African-American Studies
3. Maryland
4. Dook

Midwest
1. Chicken Chokers
2. Michigan State
3. Miami
4. Indbreds

South
1. Xavier
2. Virginia

So, Xavier is going to be a 1 seed and will not win the regular season Big East ? How is that possible ?

When it's all said and done I really can't see Xavier being on that 1 seed line at all.

If a Big East team does get a 1 seed, I'd bet on Nova before Xavier.

At this point I see Iowa being lucky to get a 4. The 2 wins against Mich St. are like gold for them lol.

No way Villanova or Xavier should get 1 seeds. They are more like 3s if people were really honest an evaluated things on more than wins and losses. Sure those 25-3 & 24-4 records look nice, but are they really better than a lot of other teams with 23-5, 22-6, 21-7, 20-8 type records? No.

The Big East is vastly overrated and they might have 2 #1 seeds that flame out early this year. Hell, make UK an 8 seed under Nova and I'd be thrilled.

I agree. Unfortunately it seems the committee is more about

Less losses + Power Conference = Better Seed.

How does Duke get a 3 seed? Tex A&M, Purdue, Cal, Texas are all better teams.

Right now in most projections
Texas A&M is projected 5 seed
Purdue is projected 5 seed
Texas is projected 6 seed
and Cal is a projected 7 seed

None of them have the same resume Duke has

I look at your seeds. I look at Joe Lunardi's seeds. I look at my own seed predictions.

The thing i keep noticing is that I don't think it really matters much. These teams (top 15 or 16) are so even that any of them could beat any of the others with probably a 30-40% success rate. I believe the ones that fall to the 4 seed line might be at a slight disadvantage, but not a lot. The 1s, 2s, and 3s have an equal chance to play great basketball and win a title. The 4-6 seeds have a decent outside chance.

All that said, I really like our chances with Ulis and Murray in the backcourt. If Humphries can keep rebounding and taking up space in the middle, Poythress doing what he can do, and Lee being active on both ends, I REALLY like our chances. This is not even to mention Willis, who has been the catalyst for our great play, and Briscoe who provides good things of his own. Just shoot 4-5 shots per game instead of 11-12 Briscoe, please?
