I think Wisconsin as a 3 seed was too high they should been a 4 seed they don't have very many great wins they are basing a lot of this on only having 5 losses there.
It's mid-February and Pope has his thrown together, beaten and battered group in the Top 10. Unreal.
When is a last time one conference got 3 Number 1 seeds? I'd say potentially all 4 but Duke isn't falling.
Looks like it was 2019 with ACC. But before that it was the Big East in 2009.

Texas A&M needs to take care of business against Arkansas at home before they worry about getting a 1 seed.

Basketball is simple Kentucky is my 100% clear #1 (there was only 1 time my entire life I didn't know what to root for and I will admit it. It was in 2011 when Ohio State was #1 overall seed and I was crushed when the bracket came out and Kentucky was a 4 seed in the same region) I thought Ohio State would never be this good ever again (and they have not) and I thought Kentucky would have many chances in the future to win titles and new that 2012 class was going to be great.
Once Kentucky won that game and went to the final 4 I thought we would win it all so I was very happy unless we lost to UCONN.
That probably was the worst feeling of all time for me watching that game basically not rooting for either team.

Well that was fun especially since we got #10 which was basically the highest possible we could have been.
Kentucky just needs to take care of business tonight with a sneaky tough road game.

sounds about right for this year. we could see that. definitely could hold up or something close to it.
But my observation is that St. John's will move up, and Michigan State will be in there in the mix for a top 16 too. I'd take them over Michigan right now.

Am I overthinking to be really worried about a round two with Duke? They are strongest at our weakest position and if all other one seeds are SEC teams, we 100% get stuck with them.

If this holds true I would say about 60% chance we end up in Dukes region. Would not be a bad thing as I think Duke is out against a good 8 9 team.
Duke, Texas AM, Kentucky, Kansas. That would be my guess. All 4 could reach sweet 16 and all 4 could be out first weekend.
Well unless you want to be n with alabama, or auburn it will probably be Duke. I doubt Florida stays a 1 so there will be another option by selection Sunday IMO.

It is truly amazing that 1 win could put boost us from a 4/5 seed to a solid 3 seed. I don't really agree with what they all were saying we had so many big wins that I still felt we should been a high 4 seed like 13 overall after the Arky loss.
Now that Tenn win was at home so it wasn't as massive as the first one so it helped get us to a 3 seed but I think we would still been a 4 seed with the loss which I think not many others thought (since they already had us at 15-17 overall range and then you would added another loss)

I'd love to get out of the West. But the location is probably the last thing to consider, and a bonus. As Clark Kellogg said multiple times--how you're playing and who you're playing matter the most.

Whenever I watch anything involving this or read about the methodologies they use to seed teams there's always things I find a bit odd.
You have a group full of people sitting around looking at the team sheets and trying to rank the teams based on that stuff. They are all sitting there trying to weigh things properly. Oh this team has 3 Quad 1 A wins and this team has 4 but oh those 3 wins were all on the road and the team with 4 those were all at home.
It just strikes me as a bit odd we still in 2025 do things like this when the purpose of NET was to weigh everything properly to begin with. In other words we don't need a committee.
The other thing I find weird is when people follow the numbers on the team sheets..........until it doesn't conform to their already existing belief. They were talking about St Johns win at Uconn on the video and guys were like "well is that really that good of a win". It's like oh we know the team sheet says team is X rated but we don't really believe it and so we aren't going to factor that in as high. Which I just find .......weird to do. You either put stock into the numbers or you don't. You shouldn't cherry pick based on what you actually feel.
I dunno just random thoughts on this. In the end, they pretty much get there tho.
