TOP 10 Kentucky Football Wins Under Coach Rich Brooks

Always loved that when Barnhart called him to ask if you had thought on who he should hire at UK, brooks said yeah I do hire me. Stoops has been great but I’ll always have a soft spot for Brooks.

Brooks was the second best coach UK has had in my lifetime, and I go back to the dark days of John Ray. Only Stoops is better. As an overall package, I would rank Coach Claiborne third. We were really competitive under Claiborne, and certainly a program to be proud of, but never really got over that hump to a "winning program" like Brooks and Stoops have done.

Also, Trevard Lindley may be the most underrated player in UK history. He is the best CB I've seen at UK.

The win at Arkansas with McFadden and Jones, the best #1 #2 rbs I have seen in college fb, after beating UL the week before, at Arkansas, is often under-rated. That team also beat LSU that year. Keenan Burton was the best all around wr imho that I have seen at UK. Shame his injuries derailed what could have been.

Still can't believe that the 2007 team went 8-5. 4 OT heartbreaker loss to UT, an absolute clunker against Miss state were the two we should have had. Deserved to lose the UF game and the USC thursday game, but the other two losses hurt.

That was a really big win because it was a road win and they were the only other team to beat LSU that year. I may be wrong, but I remember having to listen to it on the radio like it wasn't televised but that's why it's not as well remembered. I remember Les Miles said at end.of the year after their championship that the Arkansas loss was LSU being sloppy and too many mistakes but the UK loss was the one where they were outplayed and out physicaled.

Yes, and Lindley made the play that turned that Arkansas game around too. They were driving up 20-7, just before half. Lindley returned a fumble for a TD, and instead of being down 27-7 on the road at half, it was 20-14 with momentum on our side.

I had a class with Sam Maxwell in 2008. In the Arkansas game he had a tackle for a loss that prevented them from scoring a TD and thus winning the game. The first day of class after that game when he walked in I went "Man that tackle was beautiful!" and he went "thanks, felt real good too"

Nice video. Thanks. I follow Coach Brooks on Twitter. He remains a UK fan as evidenced by his attendance and tweets from the recent NCAA track and field championships when Abby Steiner and relay team tore it up. He should have received another 1-2 seasons as HC.

Just think if He, Archer, and Hudson would have set up recruiting pipelines to their past connections how good they could have been.

Great watch. Coach Brooks has done what Stoops hasn't been able too so far. Beat Georgia. Hopefully Stoops gets over that obstacle this year.
