Cutter Boley, playing in front of 100,000 fans was so much more comfortable than Brock Vandagriff, and seemed like he understood the offense better. Hamdan seemed to call a completely different game while Cutter was at QB. Looked like he may have been more comfortable with Cutter at QB . I haved feeling Stoops was to loyal to Brock and it has cost the team in preformance from the most important position. Very odd, IMO, that a true freshman seems so much more comfortable than a upper classmen.

He couldn't compete seriously for the QB position at GA. VG is, at best, a backup ... not a starter. He's just not good enough ... the game's too fast for him and Stoops is too slow to be making these types of decisions. The football program is in a bad spot right now and will remain so until Stoops is gone ... sorry to say. JMO.

Completely agree!!!

Fact is Kirby sold BVG on Stoops
Stoops paid a rediculous amount for a back up QB and therefore felt obligated to use him
Anyone with a functional brain could look at those two quarterbacks and see the huge difference between the two

This is just one of so many Coaches blindness.

I understand that practice is important but a LOT of these kids just have it when it comes to being on the field.

Stetson Bennett and the new Florida QB are two very recent examples of some players are a different animal when playing.

Few true freshmen are ready to start QB for SEC schools. Stoops certainly couldn’t go into off season planning to start a true freshman at QB.

I don’t see practice, but I’m guessing Boley has progressed during the year. Combine that with fact that BV looks like he’s regressed, and Boley now looks like the better QB.

Stoops and crew have had a rough year, but I don’t blame him for just now turning to Boley. He also saved his redshirt.

There’s much to complain about this year, but I don’t think how Boley has been managed is one of them. Just my thoughts.

I'll give you that it's very likely Boley has improved over the course of the year. But, a good talent evaluator would have seen the raw ability and given him some earlier reps. He should have at least been the No 2 QB getting some of Wimsatt's playing time.

It’s kind of like Calipari not playing the best players but rather playing the ones he had promised playing time to.
Will be interesting Toto c if Stoops starts Boley this week.
If he does and Boley beats UL and looks good it shows Stoops doesn’t know how to evaluate or utilize talent properly .
If he does’t start Boley the fan base will go nuts and it will be very ugly .

And then there is next year . Out of courtesy to the kid Vandagriff needs to be told now Boley is number one in order that he can explore all options . We all want what is best for Vandagriff but not here . Whoever evaluated him as a savior of our program needs to be fired as well as our offensive line coach .

When stoops got here we were in the celler and 12 years later we are still in the celler and we are vandys biatch pony up

Remember, Boley is a freshman with little to no experience. Best prospect I can remember Stoops recruiting. We only want portal guys who can't see the field on their previous team. Boley is a keeper. Learn to like and appreciate him. He will be the young man under center for atleast two more years. We are LUCKY to have him. If I am not mistaken, TN recruited him hard. Chumblee seems to know QBs.

Brock isn’t a sling it around QB.

He would be a great option heavy QB using my his legs to compliment a power run and misdirection heavy run game, playing off occasional Play Action to take advantage of a stacked box with a strong arm attacking outside 1v1 coverage

If we are going to run an offense the depends on the QB making consistent and quick reads of coverage…you need a guy who makes quick (accurate) reads with a quick release.

11 games try 11 years…

Only reason he found him cause he grew up and played next to the stadium.

He’s got a real shot to do something with CB and the young talent hope he doesn’t butt fumble it.

I think Wimsatt was brought in to offer some running packages and to help protect Boley’s RS.

I agree with you that GW got too many snaps. I don’t know if BV maxed out his potential or not. Like you, I believe alternating QBs while BV was playing well didn’t help him.

Anyways, very few true freshmen are ready at start of the season. I’m glad they didn’t waste Boley’s RS by getting him some garbage time in a few extra games. I’d much rather him have another year instead of getting him in some earlier games. (I hope that extra season is at UK! Either way, Stoops did what was best for the player.)

Last thing today’s highly rated players think about is a redshirt. I could care less. Play him now.

You are correct. Boley was not ready to play at the start of the season. He's progressed nicely throughout the season during practices. I feel he is ready to start against uofl. People who don't see the closed practices don't understand. They see a freshman player 8 or 9 games into the season and think they were that good when fall practices started.

I’m assuming you get to see practices?
