Titans Off-season and Draft

With the #1 pick in the NFL Draft, then Tennessee Titans should draft...?

I shake my head everytime I see a pundit suggest the Titans should take either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. This is not a good QB class, neither are ready to step right in, and I don't expect either to have the best QB career out of this draft. My money would be on Jaxson Dart or Will Howard to have a better career over Ward or Sanders. Titans need to roll with Levis one more year and hope he turns a corner, draft best available, maybe get a QB in the 3rd/4th, and then see what happens if somebody like Arch Manning is within reach next year.

I personally think they should try to trade down and accumulate more picks. Abdul Carter seems to be a popular choice among draft analysts, but the Titans have to build around so many needs.

What are your thoughts, Titans fans?

Trade back for a haul.

No obvious generational talent and franchise changing QBs.

If they absolutely want a QB they can get on probably late first early second.

Trade back for a haul....if one doesn't present itself....then draft Travis Hunter and play him both ways....he's the best player in the draft.

With their awful OL and very limited weapons, drafting a QB #1 does NOT solve the problem. Could Ward or Sanders be marginally better than Levis - yes. Would they hold up to the pounding they'll absorb?

I would trade back, draft some OL, pick up WRs, TEs, backs who can catch later in the draft or in FA and roll with Will one more year. New OC, so maybe he'll simplify the reads so that WL doesn't hold the ball too long and take hits. Obviously he's got the arm talent. The game just hasn't slowed down for him yet (it may never - it's happened to other QBs). But, like others have said, I don't see either Ward or Sanders being THE piece the Titans need to make the playoffs this coming season. They have a LOT of holes and subjecting your 'franchise', #1 overall QB to constant pounding week-in, week-out is not a solution. Once the Titans have plugged many of the holes on offense re: OL and playmakers, then adding a franchise QB makes sense. Honestly, it could turn out that, with the right pieces around him (see: Wandale when WL was at UK), Will could become a solid, mid-tier NFL QB.

BTW, I wouldn't draft Sanders if he fell to the second round. I would not want to put up with his and Prime's BS and interference into how I run the team and the offense. That's just me. Plus, I recognize that he's good but I'm not convinced he's as good as he thinks nor as good as his draft status might indicate. He still has quite a bit of development to go through, imo.
