Thunder Match $70 Mil Offer To Keep Kanter

Good move by the Thunder. Kanter will continue to put up big offensive numbers in that system. He does not play much D...but you are going to have to outscore GS and Cleveland to win the title anyways.

Donovan doing work. Thunder will compete next year.

Most important aspect of this move is that it shows Durant and Westbrook that they're committed to spending to keep players around them.

I got the impression from watching them that Westbrook liked Kanter. I think he's in a good spot to continue to grow

Glad to see OKC does not want to FREE ENES either.....

Sorry, I had to do it. I am glad for the guy. Never got to see him destroy people wearing the blue and white, but we're seeing what that season would've been for us!

OKC is going to be legit title contenders, assuming Durant and Ibaka are 100% healthy. Their starting lineup could be:
Westbrook
Waiters
Durant
Ibaka
Kanter
That's a really good team. They have 2 MVP type players, 2 possible All-Star type players, and one okay player in their starting lineup. Provided they have no major injuries, they should be battling GS and CLE for the top team in the NBA.

i have to agree. they are all in for titles it looks like. what happened with harden happens. like with mcgrady and carter in toronto. but okc has a fervent fan base and the orginizatuon is matching the zeal.

not sure how risky it is as far as money management, but a move like this says they want a title. and if kd comes back strong they have a great chance. kanter is perfect for their offense and i'm sure the front office was as aware of that as the stars who were probably in their ear.

at least them and gs would be an epic western finals. but you know san antonio is going to get in the way with a loaded roster, and what figures to be the friendliest whistle in nba history waiting on them. they can't lose in duncan's last year.

Had to keep him. Need to prove to Durant that they are willing to do what it takes to build a true contender with him being a free agent next summer.

Kanter has a shot of being a 17 and 10 guy for OKC. We all know Durant and Westbrook are gonna get their 25+.

High scoring team (to be expected when a team has Durant, ofc). Really, they have scorers at every level. Westbrook lights it up from the 1, Durant lights it up better than anybody at any position, but he does it from the 3, and after Kanter was traded to the Thunder, Demarcus Cousins was the only player in the league to have more 20/10 games than Kanter. Ibaka should be able to make up for many of Kanter's defensive mistakes, and if Kanter learns to draw the charge like DMC does, he could potentially be a star in OKC.
solid chance that they win the western conference. Billy D. couldn't have walked into a better situation.
