Three number ones getting the shaft.

I get that but why does the state of NC need to get a site every year? The state of Kentucky doesn't get a sight every year and I am sure a lot of others don't either. It just seems to be fish when there is always a site in North Carolina they can conveniently be close to and play in.
I’m certainly not in favor of them geting sites every year. I can see why they get them though. Supply and demand. CBB is a somewhat niche sport and they want money. North Carolina is a basketball state and there are multiple cities that are large enough to attract games. Kentucky has two cities. Some of the larger venues in other metropolitan areas may be attractive in a vacuum but you turn on the tv and see they are 65% empty. Where the money is, they will go. I get the frustration of NC always having games. To me though, the time to be mad about that is when the venues are announced…not when the committee assigns the teams. It’s not as though that process is a mystery

This is the first NCAA tournament game Duke has played in the state of North Carolina since 2015.

Stupid people always invent reasons to get upset
Kentucky has played in the state of Kentucky 18 times in the history of the program with 14 of the 18 coming 40+ years ago. Duke on the other hand has played 40 NCAA tournament games in Raleigh alone. Then throw in games in Charlotte, Greensboro plus the games they played at home when the NCAA allowed it and you understand why those "stupid people" have a reason to discuss it.

How is that for research?

Why haven’t they played there since 2015? I’m genuinely curious.
From wiki.
On September 12, 2016, the NCAA stripped the state of North Carolina of hosting rights for seven upcoming college sports tournaments and championships held by the association, including early round games of the 2017 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament scheduled for the Greensboro Coliseum. The NCAA argued that House Bill 2 made it "challenging to guarantee that host communities can help deliver [an inclusive atmosphere]".[49][50] Bon Secours Wellness Arena was able to secure the bid to be the replacement site.[51] In an ironic twist, Durham-based Duke would suffer a defeat to South Carolina in a second-round game at Greenville that year.

How dare you to do research and then give facts. 🤣

Fake drama for the drama queens. None of those 3 number ones are getting the shaft.
I don’t like the every second complaining about Duke. Makes us look like they are above us in the pecking order, kinda hurts my pride. I still hold onto the idea that we are the top brand in CBB. I’m probably just living in the past

Duke fans travel 20 miles for their first 2 games, Florida 7.5 hours, Auburn fans 8 hours and Houston fans 9 hours for their first 2 games. Care to elaborate on why it doesn't seem like Duke and it's fans aren't getting special treatment when they can sleep in their own freaking beds at night?

If Duke didn’t earn the second #1 seed though, you know a team closer would have earned that location though. That’s just how the tournament works. People would have been just as mad those years the tournament had Louisville as a regional site had we been good enough to get there.

Yes. So the NCAA created a rule they knew would hurt Duke, but did it anyway because they do not give preferential treatment to Duke selections.

In addition stupid people dont know what year it is and things change.

Charlotte hosted 2024. Duke was placed in bracket in Brooklyn

Greensboro hosted in 2023. Duke was placed in Orlando

Charlotte hosted in 2018. Duke was placed in Pittsburgh bracket.

Are you tired of being wrong yet of seeing the overwhelming evidence about Duke not getting special placement in the NCAA tournament?

I get it. You are a dook fan. Tell me how they are not getting preferential treatment this year. Can you possibly do it without your dook bias coming through?

What I love about these threads, are trolls outing themselves in a desperate attempt to defend the indefensible with sophistry. It's like obnoxiously smug moths to a flame.
Speaking for myself, I like to be consistent as I can be. Cats from cradle to grave. I feel like if I complain about something I’ll have to complain about it for my team as well. Not everything is about some super secret operation, as though the ones who disagree with OP are closet Duke fans. Cmon bro, you’re talking about being obnoxious and saying everyone who disagrees is a troll. Allow others within the fanbase to hold to a different view on things

Why are you ignoring my post where I gave you facts that Duke has played 20 miles from their campus twice as much as UK has played in KY not to mention every other venue in North Carolina?

Since the pod system began in 2002 how many times had the tournament been in Louisville and raleigh?
