Thread on Duke's board saying there is a rumor Allen might be transferring

Actually, old news (rumor)...Some have said maybe Fla...Mike White's
dad is Duke's AD....Some say that Allen just needs a change of scenery.
And he is from jacksonville.

Good, if he went, it would be like the Gators of old all over again.

Wow! That is a shock actually but really....

Who in their right mind would take freakin Grayson Allen? If I was a coach, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole.

I doubt this is true at all. Doesn't make any sense. He would just enter the draft rather than sitting out a year. No way this happens.

If he can graduate in 3 like many do, he won't have to sit out.

I would love for him to transfer somewhere else. The media took up for him constantly, even siding with K for playing him after all the trips. At any other school they'll tear him apart. He doesn't know how good he has it.

Sh*t, speak for yourself. JMM came back and was way better off in school than going pro.

Free cars, diploma, roys house, guns etc crap I'd stay there too. I'm sure by now he's got enough equity built up from UNC it makes a first round contract look like a Burger King salary.
Damn, now that you mention it, he practically hit the lotto! Lucky bastard.

We don't want Duke opening up tons of spots. They will have commits if that happens. All of this talk about how thin they'll be is not gonna happen. Kennard will probably return, as will Allen, and they could easily land Duvall, Knox, and Bamba. That would be pre season #1 by a mile and it's not like last year where they weren't healthy. Bambas knees are fine.

So ready for K to retire. He's selling his legacy to these recruits and they also know the favoritism Duke gets today. When he's gone Duke becomes Indiana in a decade bank it.

Who in the world would let this guy near their team? Talk about a cancer to a team/ The fact that he may consider transferring instead of going pro shows what this year did to his stock.
Doubtful this is true but the facade of duke took a major hit this year. Frauds and phonies abound there.

I don't give a sh** how much some of these recruits like duke, if allen returns it would be hard to imagine that not having a huge impact on whether they will want to go to duke. splinter was running a complete sh** show this year and allen was a complete d-bag. We have already read that it is impacting recruiting. ole rat boy is opening up spots but this is all negative sh** hanging over the program.
We get Bamba, knox and one more guard or bamba, Cam Johnson and one more guard.
splinter and jabba the capel can eat a bag of dicks.
Go zags!

Hadn't thought about the Allen being a d-bag angle impacting recruiting. Have they got any commits since that whole thing blew up? Certainly not something I would want to have to deal with.

I think Kennard stays and they add Knox. All goes pro. If they added Bamba, I'd be disappointed but not shocked. I still think UK lands Bamba.

Duke will probably have a core of:

Carter, Knox, grad transfer big, Kennard, Trent, Jackson, Duval.

It would be tragic if Bamba joined that group. I don't think he will. It's going to be an interesting month, regardless.

First time visiting them yesterday.

Thread about Grayson Allen potentially transferring:

Someone said he'd had his stumbles. I simply commented that it seemed like it was usually someone from the other team that stumbled. Ban hammer .jpg

Duke and UK are in the same boat.

Both looking at losing 7-9 scholarship players next year.

Do you mean, same boat as in they both losing 7 - 9 players? Or the situation they are in, which i think is drastically different.

If Allen leaves, who? Frank Jackson?

Tatum is gone
Giles is gone
Jeter is gone
Bolden is gone
Jefferson is gone
Jones is gone
Allen would be gone
Kennard is pretty much gone

Obi gone as well.

But Duke can get Duval, Knox and Bamba.
I would not be surprised if it did.
And they have DrLauriet and Vrancovic back as well as Jackson

I haven't been on RR for a week - was too pissed off and upset to read or post. So, I may have missed something; trying to catch up now.
so, in that spirit - unless something else has been reported, I don't think we lose near as much as they will. Maybe it's just wishful thinking (most likely) - but I think we'll have a couple returning that weren't going to.

Duke's situation different though - something is definitely going on over there

Not speaking about status of the program. I'm simply saying both schools are going to have massive turnover. Like, brand new rosters next season. Forgot about Obi, that's just another one.

I hear Gregg Marshall's wife took a shine to him :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
