Thread on Duke's board saying there is a rumor Allen might be transferring

Certainly makes you think, if true, that the possibility of the rumor that was circulating earlier this season of K retiring could be true. Probably getting ahead of myself but if Grayson Allen and Marques Bolden were to transfer seems kind of odd with what they have coming in.

Another school would take him?

Lot of ifs, but if Kennard goes pro, and Allen either enters draft or transfers, AND they don't get Bamba or Knox, they are going to thinner than thin next year. Even if they got Duvall, all they would have is Duvall, Trent, Jackson, Carter and Vrankovic. Couldn't name you another player.

I can't think of a player that screwed up worse (not because of injury) by coming back to school than Tripper. He would definitely have been a first rounder last year.

Rumor the key word. Makes no sense at all. Is he graduating? UL must be calling.

DeLaurier has a lot of upside and will be the next Amile Jefferson eventually. They also have a kid coming in named Alex O'Connell who is somewhat unheralded, but he is the consummate hateable Duke guy - kind of a taller thinner Luke Kennard.

Allen is NOT a first rounder in this universe or any alternate ESPN universe
late first round, early second round. Either way, he cant improve his stock. Why transfer. He will be at Duke or enter the draft

As a grad transfer, he might desire a fresh start away from the past negativity.

He isn't on our radar, but i'd take him. After his first 20 point game he'd become a fan favorite too.

Duke will be fine regardless of who stays, or who leaves..

Two years max for Coach K.. And based on his previous record of bailing.. would not shock me to see him hang it up in an abrupt manner.. It's over.

I honestly don't think he will transfer but that does make sense. What we don't know is what is going on behind the scenes. Maybe the AD wants him out? Maybe K is sick of dealing with him? Maybe he and K have had differences? At this point, it is ALL speculation.

I don't know man. If this is true about Allen, Frank Jackson may be only one of their top 8 scorers coming back. Trent & Carter are really good but they aren't transcendent and they'll have that freshman learning curve. If Duke doesn't pull in Bamba or Knox they will be CRAZY thin next year.

Are the wheels coming off the Duke bandwagon? That back tightening up K?

Wow! That is a shock actually but really....

Who in their right mind would take freakin Grayson Allen? If I was a coach, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole.

I doubt this is true at all. Doesn't make any sense. He would just enter the draft rather than sitting out a year. No way this happens.

I honestly think Bamba shocks us all, and goes to Duke....He's an intellect a Dukie it seems to me... :-((
