Those who left at halftime...

It's not like fans not knowing when to get loud at football games is a problem exclusive to UK. Peyton Manning has even lectured the Denver Broncos fanbase on getting loud on offense instead of defense.

Sure missed a hell of a game.

I don't know why anybody would pay good money to come watch a football game and then leave way before the outcome is decided. The air went out of the building and I think that contributed greatly to ULL's come back.

At the end of the day, playing a season opener in a new stadium to a 2/3 to 1/2 full stadium is the kind of thing that will make Stoops decide to go to a school that cares about football.
That didn't include me! I left before the half and didn't miss a damn thing in the second half! It was an embarrassment

Comical about the constant complaints about fans leaving early by fans sitting at home in front of their TV.
Buy a ticket, show up, and stay or STFU!
Don't want to hear you whine about why you can't.
Again buy a ticket, show up, and stay or STFU!

At this point, im not so sure who would really want to hire stoops, his defenses are worse than when joker was here and he hasnt won a single road game in 2 years. Im not so sure his "recruits" are so great and really question his ability to coach and develop talent. Stoops so far has been nothing but all talk and media hype. Time to show it on the field this season and game 1 of 2015 is an epic fail.

What do you expect students to do? By 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter of a 3.5 touchdown game in which the opponent has only scored 10 points there usually isn't very much to stick around for. You think a bunch of kids who have been raised by iPads are going to stay and watch "sweep left. Sweep right" when their buzz has started wearing off? They PAID Five bucks. They have the cost of a happy meal invested in sticking around. Not to mention that there isn't much to be entertained at during prospective blowouts other than a PA announcer yelling "first down Kentucky!"

Kick them out and we have empty sections at the beginning of the game and half an empty stadium in 2030 because year after year of alumni have been ostracized from participating because some codger who likely hasn't invested a dime towards the program gets twisted because there's some empty seats on his Tee Vee.

I was there the whole game and was ashamed. Wasn't surprised at all that ULL got back in it considering the energy draining through the exits so early. I'm sure recruits were super impressed.

Huh? ULL would have destroyed Joker's teams. UK has improved every year. In year one they were more competitive in games even though they ultimately lost most of them. Last season they improved to 5 wins. This season I feel very strongly they will improve again. Maybe not to 8-9 wins, but to 6 and a bowl game. Teams improve the most from game 1 to game 2. This team is young, they will improve. A win over ULL isn't a fail because it's a win and it gets the team 1 game closer to 6. That should be the primary goal this season.

We have one of the top fanbases in all of college sports. The BBN has proven itself countless times. Yet once again, it's the fans fault when UK Football underachieves. I love my CATS and I'm not going to throw any negative shade their way. I will only say that the frustration with last night, should have nothing to do with the fans.
Spot on. We haven't had a winning conference record in over 3 decades and somebody has the audacity to bitch about how loyal our fans are...?

So it's ok to bail on the players/coaches currently on the field because of previous decades of losses.

We're awesome fans!

What an awful fan lot Big Blue is! ! !

First, we have these Blue Hairs at basketball games, and then we have the group who leave early at football games.

Just so difficult to please all the 'perfect' fans. Don't see how we continue to exist.

Exactly, try to do better.

People who pay to watch these games can come and go whenever the ---- they want. I lost my blue-tinted glasses years ago and have become a REALIST and what it REALLY is, is a series of year after year, game after game of, "we're getting better"..."we're getting the players now"...."be patient"...need more cliches?
I'm as big a "fan" as any of you bitching about people like me who refuse to accept the mediocrity which is UK football. Just because I'm critical of the status quo doesn't make me a hater...just a realist....Oh, yeah, where was the other half of the band last night? How about selling those hundred or so empty seats to some REAL fans, or is that another Debbie Downer comment?????????

If you actually knew anything about this recruiting room, you would know its only used pregame. Recruits can't be there during the game. I don't think we had many recruits visiting for this game anyways...

Don't think that was his point. They weren't in the room but they were seated just below it. Point is it looked bad for us to see so many leaving. It's worse because they were on the same side of the stadium as the students and as such it probably looked worse to them than it did to the rest of us. It was still packed tight where I was. It was only when I looked across the stadium that I was able to see empty seats. The recruits could have just looked right down the isle and seen them.

When the team was tying to generate crowd noise on the final fourth down try by ULL, I thought about how it must have looked to them and to the recruits in the recruiting room. Yay! We have a recruiting room! Where all the recruits can clearly see the fans depart the stadium early!!

That can see this thread too and I'd say they would be more put off by this than that
