Lee and Skal in the frontcourt until Poythress is ready.
Briscoe to play major minutes with the other guards, regardless of what Cal says about his importance to the second unit. How can Briscoe showcase himself with a second unit that only plays 10 minutes a game? I don't doubt that when Tyler is out, Cal uses Briscoe as the point guard, but it will be as a guard who slides down from the combo guard when Ulis goes out, not as a guard who is coming in off the bench. Cal wants him to be successful as a OAD. That only happens if Briscoe is logging minutes with the first unit.
Cal will only play 6-7 guys most of the minutes once SEC play starts, so I think the second unit stuff is just about the scrimmages and maybe early season stuff.
Regardless of who starts, the top six in minutes played will be Ulis, Murray, Briscoe, Poythress, Lee, and Labissiere. The seventh spot might not work itself out until later in the season. Right now, Matthews has the inside track for that spot. The way Cal covets size, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Humphries end up as 7th man.
