Putting Butler back in to force the ball to our Center with bad hands at the 3 point line is... one way to call a play with 1 min left. Also it's clear as day we need more Garrison.
Boo hoo little boyLove me some Pope though!!!
I’d agree if he wasn’t hurt. Hes definitely limited on the offensive end. Also Butler being the only PG we have will tank the season. He isn't talented enough.
He’s talented but he is inconsistent. We need Kerr back but I’m afraid he’s had too much time off and if he goes for a redshirt…. But I get your point. We have no options at PG of butler is having. Bad day. And today he was HORRIBLE.Also Butler being the only PG we have will tank the season. He isn't talented enough.
I agree with the first half of what you said, the talent is there, it’s his decision making is what’s costing us games. Also Butler being the only PG we have will tank the season. He isn't talented enough.
Bingo.Pope’s Cal like refusal to call a TO in the first half and his weird ass lineups cost us this game.
Is that Pope’s fault too? Also Butler being the only PG we have will tank the season. He isn't talented enough.
I didn’t think they were championship caliber, but after we played so well against the cupcakes and Duke/Gonzaga, I thought we’d be better than what we’ve seen lately. We are kidding ourselves to think this team is championship caliber.
Sure is. He created this roster and that guys isn't a UK caliber starting PG.Is that Pope’s fault too?
You thought he hurt us?Love Noah in a close game. He will save us. 😂
Just go pull for your team. Don't spend time to troll over here.I’ve already reached the point with this team that I did the last 7 years with Kal where I won’t even watch the game unless it’s a pretty sure win. If we happen to win then I’ll watch a replay. No need to waste my days getting pissed off watching bad basketball and stupid mistakes.
2 straight losses, 4-4 in the last 8 and losing his biggest recruit in the last 2 days that we supposedly lead on forever… the Pope honeymoon is over IMO. I was one that HATED the hire and was probably one of the very last to come around on him. Took getting Lewis and beating Duke/Gonzaga to do that. Now I’m starting to wonder if I was right about him initially.
Well no shit. Luckily those aren’t the only two coaches in the world. For those who are railing on Pope, You wouldn't even be in a close game with CCC. Geez. Slurpers
We have to start playing better first half. It’s killed us in every loss.My concern thus far is how frequently the team looks either unprepared, unfocused, lazy, or lacks effort in the first half of so many games.
This is not something I was anticipating to be a problem with a veteran squad.
The fact that it has happened repeatedly under Pope is a red flag. Not sure why it keeps happening, but Pope's inability to have this team amped up to play is a big problem.
If UK would have played the first half like they did the second half, UK wins by double digits.
He took who he could get. Give him time.Sure is. He created this roster and that guys isn't a UK caliber starting PG.
Its not like a starting big man was out for the game or something. He has to try new lineups because the only 2 players we couldnt deal without was Butler and Carr and one was out and the other is still banged up, If Kriisa wasnt injured, Butler would probably rest a week or 2 himself.Pope’s Cal like refusal to call a TO in the first half and his weird ass lineups cost us this game.
It's concerning to me, as well. This is on Pope. Even without a veteran squad, to start games unprepared to play, is inexcusable. My concern thus far is how frequently the team looks either unprepared, unfocused, lazy, or lacks effort in the first half of so many games.

Uhh yes? I like Kerr but even if he were playing it wouldn’t make a big difference. His numbers weren’t good.Is that Pope’s fault too?
That's a sobering post. No doubt the team would have looked quite different with a different coach, but I wonder if the guys would have played with more effort on both ends than what we've been seeing under Pope of late. Because they CONSISTENTLY play first halves unprepared, I wonder if there is a connection to that and not giving full effort. What about his pre-game messaging is causing this? If his half-time adjustments are so great, why is his pre-game preparation so poor?I’ve already reached the point with this team that I did the last 7 years with Kal where I won’t even watch the game unless it’s a pretty sure win. Makes it all ok then? BTW I wanted Cal gone for a long long time. For those who are railing on Pope, You wouldn't even be in a close game with CCC. Geez. Slurpers
It's happening because Pope is too nice. Seriously, he keeps telling them their great and beautiful and awesome when he needs to be real with them. You don't have to rip their asses, but you can't just feed them rose pedals and rainbows the whole time.My concern thus far is how frequently the team looks either unprepared, unfocused, lazy, or lacks effort in the first half of so many games.

I agree, but you can't just sit Oweh and Butler at the same time and put Perry, Chandler and Noah in at the same time. that was a really bad ideaIts not like a starting big man was out for the game or something. He has to try new lineups because the only 2 players we couldnt deal without was Butler and Carr and one was out and the other is still banged up, If Kriisa wasnt injured, Butler would probably rest a week or 2 himself.
I think he is , when healthyAlso Butler being the only PG we have will tank the season. He isn't talented enough.
Also ended the last 14:20 of first half with 12 points. Unbelievable with an offensive coach and mostly 4th and 5th year guys.11 points in the last 8:35 with s lot of bonehead plays and fumblitis
There are plenty of other teams out there to root for,I’ve already reached the point with this team that I did the last 7 years with Kal where I won’t even watch the game unless it’s a pretty sure win. I’d certainly have better chances of watching my team win a title if I found a new one. But I’ve spent too many years and too much money on UK to flip at this point. I’ll just keep bitching until they put a competent product on the floor. There are plenty of other teams out there to root for,
