I'll believe it when I see it. People said the same thing when Nigel Pack transferred to Miami for $400k a year, and now we're at numbers around ten times that for some kids.
If you spend any money on UK sports then it kinda is your money though. Or at least it will be once prices are all increased to support the NIL fund.

I think some of us thought at first that the wealthy donors paying out that money would stop after a year or two of not getting a return on their investment since it seems highly unlikely that an endorsement from most of these players would be sending millions of dollars worth of business their way. That hasn’t been the case though. It seems like seeing their favorite college be good at sports is something a lot of the rich are perfectly fine burning some pocket change (to them) on, so there’s no reason to think it will stop at this point.
But if I don’t like it, I don’t have to spend money on it. I’m buying a UK shirt because I like it, not because it goes to NIL. And if prices go up because of NIL, I can choose not to buy it.
I don't disagree with you at all. I was just stating that it is in some fashion our money that will contribute to all of this. They whole point of the NIL according to its proponents was that the NCAA and TV studios were making all of this money and that, some of that money needed to go to the players. Well, they aren't paying the players a dime and it's essentially going to be the fans who pay for it.
The kid is quick, wiggly, and bouncy but makes bad plays and doesn’t shoot well. He’s also a little flimsy. I don’t see how anybody thinks he contributes $7million dollars worth of basketball skill toward improved chances of winning games.
He can shoot the ball. He will be very good but he’s not worth what 2 Cooper Flaggs made.
He didn’t take good shots, but I watched his HS career and he can shoot. He has great form. When he gets a full season under his belt I have no doubt he will shoot 38-40% with better selection. He definitely needs to get stronger so he can finish at the rim though. 38% FG overall won’t cut it. A lot of that is Cal letting his guys take 18 footers all the time. Drove us crazy. Either shoot a 3 or take it into the paint.
