Too funny, especially considering you were one of the few fans who resisted publicly critiquing Cal-coached UK teams for years, even when it was clear Cal had lost his magic touch.

I’m not convinced about that OP. One thing I’ve really liked is that when we are struggling shooting we can still score and I look at the scoreboard and we’ve still got 45-55 pts in a half. We’ve got depth upon depth and we never let go of the rope. I also think there is a semblance of boredom with these bum teams. You could see when the flagrant happened and the team wanted to end these guys they did.
I don’t think anyone has said this is a great team.
I do remember several on here saying we would win only 18-20 games.
Won by 29, 105 points and shot 27% from 3. Wrong!

I’m not sure who is more annoying, the chicken little fans that constantly point out the team’s weaknesses and how we aren’t that great or the blue tinted glasses fans that think we are unbeatable and going 40-0.
Well, we should had scored 125.
Our shots from 3 weren’t falling. Theirs were. And I look up and we had 105 points and won by 30. If we aren’t great, this ain’t bad.
Come on now… this team is very good. It’s yet to be seen how good we can be but I love what we are so far.
Of course but we already beat Duke, just a good team wouldn’t have won that game. We can contend with this squad.
I have really only 2 concerns with this team.. 1st...And I think the biggest problem. We only have 2 guys that have really good handles, and can take a guy off the dribble. Butler and Kerr... And Butler has trouble finishing st the rim.. Brea is very scary when he dribbles. None of our bigs are secure with the ball... If we run into a situation where Kerr and Butler are hurt or in foul trouble, I worry about ball handling. Robinson is not bad, but his game seems to fluctuate with his shot falling.. He gets down on himself really quickly.
2nd. The lack of being able to create a shot.. We have alot of catch and shoot players.. I worry about being zoned and with my first concern, being able to break down a defense off the dribble..
That being said... I'll take this team 3 times over most, if not all of Cals last few teams. We are a really, really good team, that in my opinion, lacks just a few things of being elite.

I will have to disagree. This is a great team! Maybe not great players but they play team ball. You can take less talented players who play great team ball and you can beat talented laden teams who don’t. I think this is a top 8-15 ish team. Certainly not the most talented but they will be capable of playing with and beating anyone in the country.

I think you are wrong. I think this is EE or FF type team. Once at that point it takes some luck.
The book on us seems to be play physical and push us off the three point line. Once the refs pulled their heads out of their asses and G State couldn't muck the game up anymore then the offense took off and we curb stomped them.

Yeah, I've said it 100 times in my Rupp Rafters history, but I'll say it again. This is why I don't post in games very often. They often end up coming back to bite you, they don't often age well, just like this post.
We'll know very soon what this UK team can do. They're not a bunch of NBA athletes but they are a bunch of very good division one basketball players, and they can shoot the cover off the ball when they're on. And they showed tonight that they can play well in the paint when the threes aren't falling. We'll see what happens.
Maybe we shouldn't give up on them yet, eh? 😀

Overreaction much, I’d say we surpassed expectations so far. We struggled in the first half and still managed to hang 105 points. Sure we still have some holes to repair, but what team doesn’t at this point in the year? This isn’t a great thread
in 2 games where we struggled to shoot from outside (mind you with holiday distractions this week) we scored 87 and won by 19 and 105 and won by 29. And its clear the guys didnt turn it on until like 13 to go in the game then you see what the team does when they get focused.

Part of their hot shooting is players shooting under 20% from 3 suddenly hit a bunch of 3's. another is, and you guys are going to hate this but any coach thats average with players that hustle can draw up plays to get good looks at 3pt range and fouling the p*ss out of them is the only way to stop it. Good offense will beat good defense because defense is reactionary unless you are fouling and getting away with it.

This is exhbit A. What's wrong with uk fans. You expect 40 and 0 but a patch work team is exceeding expectations and you're hurt.
