Those years pre-date Pope and the glory days under Pitino, but for those of us who were around for Rick's first 2-3 seasons, this is what it felt like. There's real excitement right now surrounding this team and NONE of it has to do with "Are they gonna win it all?" That pressure wasn't there in 1990-92, and it doesn't feel like it's going to be back for at least a couple of years under Pope. It feels like people can get excited about watching these guys play every night without sweating the results or the "ceiling" for this team. I have no idea how good they can be yet. But I'm almost 100% convinced it's gonna be a fun ride.
