Ahhhh, always a great day to remember ! Nazr's flip-in shot FTW against Vandy, one of the best feel-good wins in that horrid opera house I call miserable gym. See link - click on link - enjoy reliving this win.

Pure Joy ! Have a GREAT Day !

Go Big Blue !

Nazr game winner vs. Vandy !

19-2 overall. 8-0 in the SEC with that win.....ranked 7th in the nation.....ended up 12-4 in the SEC I believe with a tough loss to Ole Miss at Rupp....

What a great play. Watching that video I can't tell if he got it. Video doesn't have the quality we are spoiled with today. Looked like he had no chance once he started dribbling with 1 second left. Man, it was close.

What a great finish! IIRC, Tubby said he shoved guys into the showers... was going to make the refs decision harder if they decided it wasn't in time and the game should go to OT. I wish Nazr had stayed with us one more year.

This game was actually played on January 27, so you can celebrate another day.

I remember that night. Well past my bed time and I was watching the game with my dad and he didn't think the shot was off in time. I remember mauling him in celebration and he was skeptical the shot didn't count. When the team ran off the court, he started celebrating with me. Back in my day we had to record the games on VHS. I wore that tape out replaying that last possession.

I will say this about Tubby, he celebrated as much as the fans did in his early years at Kentucky whenever we'd make a big shot.

I remember that game and shot quite well and I still don't know if he got it off in time, but happy we didn't have to go to overtime. Vandy is one venue that I hate.

That game acted as a prelude to a sensational end-of-the-year run. Loved that team. Hopefully this team can match the end result.

That game is as close as I've ever seen to an absolute toss up as to whether the shot was released before the buzzer. Replaying it and pausing the video seems to show the ball literally at the end of Nazr's fingertips when the clock hits 0.0 seconds. There's absolutely no way to tell if the ball was still on his finger tips or was already released.

To equate this to football reviews these days, I think it would go down that there was no conclusive evidence to overrule the initial call by the officials (that the basket counted).

I remember shouting with joy as the shot went in. It still ranks high among my favorite UK wins.
