All you Monday call-in folks wanna ask Cal to give examples of what he's referring to?
Some of you may know already....?

Hard to defend when the other team shoots an average of 39 free throws a game (KU &UT) I still have a hard time really understanding how that happens. The defense has fallen from top 20 in the nation to almost out of the top 50 in 3 games. It's a disturbing trend. We're winning games solely when Poy, Murray and/or Ulis goes off.
Any game where there is a slump or drought from those guys, the defense isn't doing enough to keep leads.
It's about playing "winning basketball"...
Once we get a lead, the defense lets up, we quit valuing every possession and we start taking bad shots.
That's a recipe for letting teams back in it.
Once you lose momentum, it's almost impossible to get it back.
I think he was talking about convincing them to play tough defense on every play.
He means some of the guys still want to do it there way...haven't completely bought in
I understand what Cal is saying defensively. They do still have moments where they stand straight up, allow their man to drive to their strong side, late help etc... Cal is the most underrated defensive coach in the game. However offensively, I personally hate Cal's "shortening" of the game when we get a sizeable lead. That is what IMO leads to bad shots, standing around, and often lets the other team rest and get their legs back defensively. It's the basketball version of the prevent defense and I wish we would just continue with what had got us the lead. It cost us the National Championship last year in the loss to Wisconsin, damn near allowed Kansas to come back on us in 2012 title game and I hate it.
There truly is a smart-a$$ in every crowd!
