I agree with you. I am the only real KY fan in my family. My department at work has 20 people and probably only 4 of us can be labeled as anything more than a casual fan.Just by looking at the people that I am around it is less than one third that I consider real fans.Id say more people are indifferent and don't really care than you think.
I'd say about 1.5 million?
I think it really just depends on how many children I have out there. Guess I need to get a phone book and call all my old flames.
technically we need a new name for what we call casual fans.... Because fan is short for fanatic..... so casual fanatic makes no damn sense
if there are that many tard fans I am afraid to get out of my house. In Kentucky I would say about 2-2.5 million would choose Kentucky and maybe 300-400K would choose UofL. Add in about 100-150K for the rest of the state and area schools. The rest in the state probably don't care one way or another.
Outside the state there are probably another 500-600K Kentucky fans scattered around the globe. Maybe 30-40K for UofL.

Of all those who posted Bkocats is more correct than anyone. You are correct about the rural area's. 90% of rural area people follow UK.I think you'll find a higher percentage in the more rural counties. Around the Louisville area, and the surrounding counties, the percentage is lower. A lot of people around those areas are actually from out of state, and bring their team affiliations with them. I can tell you, where I live - there are a ton of UK fans, but we also have a lot of tOSU fans as well as fans of, well, you know
