For what we just watched in that first half. If Pope can’t get a veteran team to play better defense than this??? It isn’t acceptable or excusable. And now another open 3 to open the second half??? And now another??? Pope isn’t gonna last long coaching this way.

Was no excuses this is UK, when Cal was here. Now, with Pope. They roll in. Conference is too hard. Players just not that good. Etc etc. Is what it is.

I think Pope has been solid this season. But this team being awful on defense, and having effort/motor problems is very concerning. You’d think we would play hard, after Pope tells us the team knows, what we want, etc etc. Knows the assignment yada yada.

Pope is one of us, so some people are tender to criticism levied his way. Just is what it is. I do want to see what he can do, with real talent. If the same issues persist, we will know if it’s Pope, or just this group.

I expected to take some Ls this year during league play, but it’s the lack of effort we see in some games that absolutely kills me.

It’s about effort for me as well. If we lace them up and lose to a better team or a team that got hot at home, so be it. But to disappear and fold, not a great look.
