The whining here is legendary

That is because most know that if the team keeps playing the way they have and keeps making the very same mistakes every game then after the next 4 games they understand that UK will be 4-4. They simply can't keep dodging the bullet for the whole season. No one is unhappy with being 4-0 but some understand that it gets much tougher from here on out and only want for the team to get better and correct the mistakes and undisciplined play. With the history UK has had no one can say that with only a 14 point lead at halftime and the way UK came out and started the second half, they were not worried. They would be lying if they said that. The wheels very easily could have fallen off and they almost did.
Nobody is operating under any self delusions here. This isn't a top tier team, it's very flawed. But for once the guys came out and punched somebody in the mouth in the first quarter, and except for about a 10 minute stretch in the middle of the game, there was virtually no anxiety because the game was for all intents and purposes OVER. That's a change from what we normally get to watch. By your comment, you're ALREADY looking forward to our next loss. I'm simply talking about THIS game.

I actually do see both sides of it, and the fact that there are only 2 sides further illustrates the job Stoops has done because his success has changed the bar of expectations…

hence the whining because I think fans see the potential of this team to do some great things this season, but they know those things won’t happen if the sloppiness continues.
We’ve been down this road before, we have all seen potentially great seasons end up good but disappointing seasons. It leaves a really empty feeling.

I was one of the most vociferous Stoops critics in the first 4 years of his tenure here.

Having said that, we're going to miss him when he's gone. Guaranteed.

What you refer to whining, others refer to football discussion and the state of the team. You won’t find a fan in this board not elated with a 4-0 start but if your honest with yourself, like all others, we expected a 4-0 start with how the schedule lines up. If your also honest with yourself, you have pause for concern now heading into the real part of our schedule as the team really hasn’t come close to putting in a solid outing for even half of a game yet much less the whole game. No one here expects perfection but you also don’t expect the total shit show we watched yesterday from the moment we were up 24 -0 up to where we got the interception and lateral return to take back control. That was a full quarters worth of lifeless football. Do that next Saturday and a very winnable game to get to 5-0 will result in the first loss of the season.

And the above is following similar moments the first 3 games of the season including the worst game I have ever seen in person against EKU.
A lot on here like taking passive agressive shots at everybody and like reminding everybody that because they don’t get upset they are better. Of course there are levels and some do take it to far but the complaining about other people getting upset and having actual expectations for Kentucky is funny, let’s people fan the way they want to, if you don’t want to get upset then that’s fine, if people expect maybe a little bit better play that’s fine also

Stop…candy is worst team in sec East..they’ll only be rivaled by Mississippi st as worst overall
I think you misunderstood what I said. I know Vandy is the worst team in the East. I’m saying they are arguably better than Charlotte, UTSA, and UAB.

Have you seen some of the bullshyte threads on this board? Clearly not. There's one bashing Hairston for a couple of PI plays. Dude did something almost no DB ever gets to do, TWO PICK SIXES that practically won the game for us, and people are crying about a PI? It's absurd. Every single time we come out slow this board loses its mind. So we come out and put the game away early and people are mad we didn't maintain that level 24/7. Small minded.
There are absolutely levels but Kentucky is to the point now where we can have some expectations for them, the first 3 games Kentucky was good, then won but left a lot more to be desired. The 2nd and 3rd quarter yesterday was bad. Fans should be upset at how they played those 2 quarters. Now I will agree some definitely take it to far, I do it, but I own up to it everytime, but there’s a group on here that love taking passive aggressive shots at me and other on here because we don’t like the play sometimes

Possibly, depends on who they hire, we could get one better than him or one worse.

How many games do the Cats get off to a slow start and everyone here gripes about it. So what do the Cats do against Vandy? 21-0 in the first quarter and the weaker minded fans are mad b/c we didn't win 84-0.

Just a reminder:

1. The Cats covered and the game was never in doubt.
2. We're 4-0 and hosting Florida next week.
3. Hairston had a career day yesterday.

Sometimes I wonder where crownmewilma is, so he can post his infamous "Is this the worst 4-0 team ever?"

How quickly some of you forget. We're only 10 years removed from Joker's famous "Call me when we're 2-10" gaffe.
Good post, but I prefer to call it mitch's infamously being given credit for the flood of money from the other SEC ADs who did support football, which saved our program from declaring bankruptcy. Although the TWO two win seasons AND the five years in a row with no bowl game did make us have to BORROW the money for the long overdue and NECESSARY facilities improvements. And if you don't like my opinion just don't reply unless you can refute any of the facts that ruined our football program. Much credit for the flood of money from the OTHER programs that were responsible for saving our program.

I don't think this team gets enough credit for covering the spread in all four games so far. But now the road gets a LOT tougher, I think we can be a power this year, a real chance, but no guarantee we will. The rest of the schedule is almost as tough as the one so far was easy, Vandy the only team so far that had a real chance to beat us. Everyone the rest of the way has a real chance.

Including the nearby city college team, based on early results.

We were so far in the hole on talent and facilities when he took over that no one would have done better. Any established coach capable of a miracle the first three years had enough sense to laugh at any offer from UK, why ruin your career. But I do think that our in state QB prospect that got injured was primarily responsible for the TEN four star prospects he brought in with him his first year, when the occasional three was our best before then, and that saved Stoops job. Nah, probably not, who else would have wanted it with our AD. Too bad his injury ruined his chance to be our hero, I hope he still gets thanks for what he did, no matter where he is now.

The source of so much frustration for many, including myself, is the FACT that this team has MORE overall talent than ANY in the Stoops era. Couple that with the SEC being down lower than at any other time in the Stoops era and it becomes even MORE imperative for the team to take advantage of where we are and what COULD BE before us.

With MORE attention to detail and TOTAL concentration, this team could ACTUALLY make a run at the SEC East at best OR a 10 or MORE win season!! Since 1977, we haven't seen this type of talent on BOTH sides of the football for UK. These lapses that we see early in this season are the very things that kept UK from winning 11 games in 2018, we are at a point where we want MORE!!

And I can guarantee you our coaching staff AND players feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!!!!!
Excellent post.

Very hard for a DB to not get a PI if there is any contact in todays game.

Agree 100%. Some of the fanbase is 100% miserable 100% of the time. We simply have played to our competition. We dominated Vandy pure and simple. Yes there was some mental errors, but up 4tds that happens to ANY team. I believe the execution will go up now that the competition gets tougher. They know Florida is coming and win or lose, they will be ready. But it's a loaded bitch fest for the negs. Lose and then it sill be "see I told you when we face a good team" , win and it will be "They was suppose to win, at home and Florida is not that good."

I mean seriously, just no. There is a very small fragment of the fanbase you are describing but nowhere near the Vibe of this board. Aside from a few posters here most were just hoping to see a little more consistent play before heading into the meat of the schedule. Only thing I agreed with you about is playing to their level of competition which is a stoops staple.

Which ia why I said SOME. I didn't say alot or majority, or all, SOME.
