What a load of crap, they post this on the front page WITHOUT the little symbol denoting that it is premium content. I do not wish to be suckered in by this little ploy. I do not want to view premium content whether it is free or not and their "trickery" makes me want it even less.

Dude, they forgot the symbol. Relax, I mean.. It's not a big deal... Hardly think it's trickery. How is this even post-worthy?

They didn't forget, they did the same thing a few weeks back. I agree with you that it's not really worth getting twisted over, but there's no question it's an intentional attempt to drum up subscribers with a bait and switch. Same with the "free" subs they're running now that you have to give over credit card info and sign up for, they're hoping at the end you won't bother to cancel or remember to or go through the hassle. Not sayin any of that is wrong or in anyway a unique business model, it's how most this business gets done... just sayin, it is what it is.

You guys need to understand this type of business survives only from new members and advertising plus expenses gets higher with the new addition of Internet wonder that comes available. You have to stay up or the old server will bog down or crash. Old Mel, and a lot of us who have been through it knows this type of venture can become a money pit without the influx of new members and ads so try to remember they want to give us the best product that they can without breaking their checkbook.

Mel ate the costs at WCF. Not many people can or will do that (and he was not a rich man, just faithful to BBN). I am thankful for these free message boards where we can talk shop.

I think the OP pulled a bait and switch. The name of this thread is misleading and is nothing at all like the real Roland War Room. I'm outraged.

Heaven forbid that you cancel your free subscription after several months of free insider info. Presently I'm really enjoying the breakdown and all the 4 stars comments on who is really interested in us.
And if you forget I'm sure that 12 bucks or whatever it is just might cause you to lose your house and car then your wife leave ya after your dog bites you all because u paid out 12 bucks.

Again, I have no problems whatsoever with the business model or the means they're using to hook people in. It's no different than late night infomercials selling things on 30 day guarantees assuming you won't go through the trouble to send em back. That's fine with me, Rivals is upfront and honest about what they're doing in that regards. I don't have much problem with what they're doing in not putting the insider ticket on their war room posts trying to trick people into clicking insider links and eventually go through the trouble of signing up. It almost worked on me a few weeks ago.

Having to make a phone call to cancel (as I assume is the way you cancel since it's what Rowland said) from Da Nang, Vietnam would cost about eleventy billion dollars. I don't even plan on calling my family, I'm certainly not gonna call Rivals. It's the reason I didn't sign up for the free trial, knowing how difficult it would be for me to cancel it. We're not all in the same life situations princess. I encourage you to continue to enjoy the breakdown of the 4 stars and comments on who is really interested in us. No one said you shouldn't. OP being a little miffed over the site not using premium logos on premiums links though makes sense. Acting like there's nothing here and being rude about it is pretty miraculous. somehow you've managed to stick your head both in the sand and up your ass. Ton of dexterity required.

Then you shouldn't miss it.

People whine about stupid stuff. I rarely read any of the articles on this site. I come here for the ability to talk UK sports for free on a great message board system with other UK fans. This site could be like some teams' sites on Rivals that make you have to join/pay to post on the good boards.

Miss what? The premium content? I have NO DESIRE to view it, I just think that it shows a lack of class when they try to trick you into wanting to view something that you have to pay for. If they had the little premium content icon next to the post I would not have clicked on it. And don't tell it was a mistake that they left it off.
