The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Has anyone explained why after the annexation of crimea, Ukraine just sat on their asses and didn't think, hey maybe we should invest in preventing such things.

I always love looking back at this too, but to be fair ppl weren't conditioned at the time to think putin was puppet master of the universe and knew that Russia was a has been power

Yeah man, where were you? You should've been paying attention.

Farmy75 being a bluesky person makes me laugh every time he posts a link.

Seems like it’s just Reddit for people who think they’re too good for Reddit.

The BS narrative formation/promulgation just migrated now that they've lost twitter.

This is how propaganda gets turned into news to get support for war. They used to be able to just lie lie lie and people would believe it. USAID was funding 90% of media in Ukraine... LOL. There is no popular support for the war inside Ukraine. They are using press gangs just to fill out quotas.

are you saying just this clip isn't NK soldiers, or that there aren't NK soldiers at all involved in the Russian Invasion

What the hell are you talking about. Of course I want Ukraine to pay us back.

Obviously option 1a would have been to never get involved. That ship sailed.

Since you neocons and warmongers were dead set on as many people dying as possible, we kept the shit going for three years. Now our options are, (1) fund the war into perpetuity with no plan, (2) US boots on the ground, (3) walk away with nothing other than $200 billion in I need to pay off or (4) make Ukraine pay is back for the money we gave them.

The choice is obvious. The ultimate outcome was always obvious other than the possibility of being paid back.
I’d rather have walked away and got nothing. We have no business setting up shop in Russia’s back yard.

It’s like nobody ever learns a damn thing.

On the flip side, pretty hard for left wing idiots to say that Putin owns Trump when Trump is now setting up an American tripwire presence.

That’s the problem with Trump. Businessman at heart and thinks every issue is a profit opportunity.

Ukraine will come out the other side of this war with a large drone and missile tech industry.

No they won't. This war is over. Trump and Vance just hit Z with the biggest dose of reality I've ever heard. Pretending you can still win when it's obvious you can't is insane. It's like when a fighter says he's done and the corner keeps trying to talk him into going back out and keep taking a beating. Once it's obvious it's over... it's over. Many fighters ruined their careers by fighting an extra round or 2 in lopsided losses. Ukr is going to end up being the same way.

Was he lying then or lying now? Or, has this just become uber political and he just goes with the politics? Doesn’t he care about Democracy? About the other European countries that would be next on Russia’s list?

Zelensky must have the same beltway advisors who set Biden policy, ran desantis’ campaign, etc. No outside perspective.

Someone should have told Zelensky America voted to end the war, voted out the people who helped start it, and the current administration isn’t going to blow him like the democrat elite do.

That and usaid owning 90% of Ukraine media. Funny how the mistakes only go one way. Im sure thats just coincidence.

Watching commentator say how it was a mistake for Zelensky to do this in English.

When he said "we're going alone" he was talking about soldiers not trying to be unthankful for aid.

Regardless, should always do it with interpreters as it gives each party time to pause

Well he better issue a long apology and clarification.

Yeah, according to you war mongers, Russia has been running out of everything from day 1.
When they repeat this claim, as they have since the beginning, it belies just how little they understand about Russia. Russia has always used sheer numbers to grind down opponents. Putin will throw as many as it takes into this meat grinder. The idea that Ukraine could ever overcome that, even with hundreds of billions of dollars, was always ridiculous.

An amazingly embarrassing display by the US administration today, one of the worst moments under Trump in an exponentially growing collection of hilarious missteps and fumbles.

Never thought we'd be Russia's b*tch yet here we are. We're pandering to the largest dictatorship in the world like we have no choice in the matter. Just an astounding collection of spineless turds in that room representing the US.

I thought he was at a big disadvantage too with language.

Still, his dumb ass should have known not to have campaigned here during the election.

This is as silly a thing as could possibly be typed. Full blown TDS.

That you believe standing up for the taxpayer and questioning an unwinnable war means that you’ve been propagandized beyond any hope. Make sure you check for Russians under the bed and in the closet tonight. They control Trump you know.

Its clear the Kentucky Comrade Club just thinks you roll over and let one of your largest adversaries secure more resources to leverage against you and your allies.

Can you point me to whatever declaration or policy statement names Russia as an adversary?

Can you explain to me how their control of Ukraine would enable them to threaten us any more than it did when it was Soviet territory?

Can you explain why we should fund an unwinnable war in perpetuity?

Can you offer anything other than your TDS? Do you have any of your own thoughts that aren’t centered around the central premise that opposition to this war means support of Russia?

It's clear you can't think deeply. A mineral deal is security. Said it in the political thread...I'll dumb it down enough so it makes sense on bluesky.

You make the deal to acquire resources in Ukraine. The US will take said resources, in effort for profit, this means the US is tied to Ukraine economically, which means the US will protect anytjing that tries to disrupt said assets. Simple, or dumb it down more?

Also, Ukraine can.not.win.this.war. Do you want to fund it for 30 years, forever, when, or until entire generations are gone in Ukraine which destroys their viability as a country further?

But instead, Zelensky shows up to the WH in sweat pants, demands money, and he's the guy that actively campaigned for Harris...but ah yes, Trump should be more graceful. Not to mention, he has no idea of diplomacy ..he waited until the cameras were on to put on a show, which you never do to ANY American president, and fell for a press trap that wants to stir shit up.

Also, you said nothing:
