Do you guys buy this term?? Lets take Cal for example...if this season does not end up in a decent run in tourney do you guys feel Cal gets a pass??? I do think he gets a pass...4 out of 5 final fours in todays game it is unheard of...thoughts

Cal would need to go the next 5 plus years without even sniffing at a Final Four to even get a tiny rise in his hot seat. He is a HOF coach with a proven track record and a national championship under his belt. He will be here as long as he wants barring a complete failure of the program, NCAA trouble or Ho's in the Wildcat Lodge.

Not sure if serious!

This is the most paranoid accusatory group of people i have ever seen....i see posts on here after LSU game of fans calling the season over and i ask a somewhat hypothetical question if and big if that we dont make a big run and get flack for it...smh

You could add like 10 people to ignore, and you'd never see that nonsense.

it's because your original post is stupid. Don't use Cal as a example. Use some other coach who had some success but haven't recently had historically great run.

Free pass would depend on the situation obviously... it's silly question.

No offense man, but you start these somewhat controversial posts and then get defensive and question why people question your motives. I get what you're trying to ask but come on now, you can't use posts from the other night from some people who are just venting or stupid as a crutch.

To answer your question, Cal is Cal. He isn't changing. He isn't changing his recruiting so people need to get a grip and understand we have a great program. Feel like I keep saying this, but we won't go to the FF every year and that's okay.

After a loss or even a close game, I think it is fair to discuss disappointments, the issues observed, what we as fans think should change, etc? Now, some interpret that any of this type of content is meaning that we don't think Cal knows what he is doing, we don't like the players, program, direction of things occurring, etc. I would tend to suggest those who make that interpretation are more of the issue or are concrete thinkers where their world is broken down to only true or false. But, more to the point is that these discussions have nothing to do with suggesting Cal should get a "pass" or we need to change coaches, we are unhappy with the program in general, etc. Cal's success has been amazing. Plus, there were identical discussions during the first year of the Harrisons' where we losing quite a few games. The board went nuts after the loss to South Carolina and yes some where over the top with their comments. But, that is because we are dedicated loyal fans who want the program to do well. Turns out that year ended pretty well.

Maybe the topic should be does Cal give us a "pass."

What is controversial about it??? Fill in the blank of whatever coach you want...Saban Pitino popovich i dont care ....i just used Cal cuz he is our coach...not rocket science

It's situational, i think you would agreed to that pretty easily.

Obviously Cal, Saban, Pop, K, and Izzo all have proven track record that always get free pass. Until they go like 5-6 years of doing absolutely nothing. (At UK coach cal would probably get pressured after 3 years)

Coach K has a lifetime pass. Saban too. Pop as well. Belicick (however you spell his name).

But other coaches have long years of Free passes like Cal, Izzo, Williams, Self and few others in CBB. Pitino too, if not for his off court issues.

In regards to other coaches not listed above...well they probably won't get free pass unless they just been hired in.
