For the most part, Coach Cal relied on talent and athleticism alone. Now, a UK team is able to beat squads that have more individual talent than they have. Scheme and skill matter. It’s a completely different style than UK fans are used to. Far more balanced scoring with team defensive concepts. And more important than anything else, guys are playing for each other and the name on the front of the jersey…not the one on the back.

This is what me and many in BBN needed after years of disappointment in the Cal Era. Kentucky Basketball is back, and we can finally think big again. Don't let people tell you to temper your expectations. We're Kentucky fans and feels so damn good to get a statement win early on. Thank you Coach Pope for giving us reason to be excited about Kentucky Basketball again!
