How much do you think that plays into a coach's decision on whether or not to change QBs?

From all my years of watching football, nothing turns a fanbase against a coach, even a popular one, than sticking with a struggling QB.

Just curious how everyone thinks Stoops is going to handle the QB situation if Towles doesn't improve against Missouri.

I don't think the fans' feelings are a concern, but he does need to be concerned with losing the locker room by staying with PT. They may say all the right things to the media, but I guarantee the defense is PO'd today. The rest of the offense isn't far behind them. A couple more winnable games given away by offensive play as poor as we saw last night, the team could be in full revolt.

I think the coaches will play the player, regardless of position that they believe gives them the best chance at winning. Players who are "second string" are second string for a reason.

I might add that 3 years ago Towles was that second string QB that the fans all wanted to see playing...how did that work out?

Zero.

We have an incredibly ignorant football fan base. Its obvious by some of the other threads and posts on this message board.

Yes, and Curry also thought that Haskins was better than Couch.

Face it, just because they make a decision doesnt mean its the best one.

Go thru the same stuff in basketball...just because Cal says it doesnt always make it so...Fans are not always ignorant...some of us know the game
