Didn't give names, but it says this:

"The student-athletes who participated in the striptease dances, prostitution and "tipping" of the strippers became ineligible for competition. They knew or should have known that their actions were contrary to NCAA legislation."

Why do I get the feeling that the NCAA is intentionally leaving this open so it can say that none of the ineligible athletes were on the 2013 team? They know who was involved and who should be ineligible...

What a damn farce.

Either that or it's A) daring UL to try and lie to them again or B) part of the "process" in all of this.

Trust me, Louisville knows this means the 2012 and 2013 banners are gone. That is why they have already announced that they are appealing the "excessive" penalties from the NCAA (none of the other penalties are excessive at all). If things stands, the banners are gone.

The NCAA knows who is ineligible. They're putting the onus on Louisville to admit it themselves and own up to the penalties.

Its a process..they are givin Cards one last chance to admit it all

I think this sentence is key:

plus the university must return money received through conference revenue sharing for its appearances in the 2012 to 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships.

That tells you the Committee thinks UofL played ineligible players in the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 tournaments - otherwise why make them forfeit monies from those tournaments?

A poster in another thread stated that requiring Louisville to self-admit, prevented them from then suing the NCAA. I have no idea if this is the actual reasoning but it does make sense.

This appears to be correct but we shall see

That was me...and yes it makes a lot of sense. This assumes that UofL will do the right thing by declaring its own players ineligible and then the rest goes pretty much in a straight line. If Russ Smith is deemed by UofL to be an ineligible player...UofL is the organization making it happen...not the NCAA. Then it is clear the games that are to be vacated. Pretty smart play actually. Keeps the NCAA out of court. Russ can sue UofL.

Yep. That's what convinced me too. Almost 100 percent now they lose the ship.
