He has a nice looking jumper & would pair great with Oweh, he doesn’t have to come here and avg 20 but looks like he could easily get 12-14/game. I feel like we are holding out for smith but doesn’t he have a camp in the summer in Indiana?? Makes me think he’s not entering and definitely leaning to Pierre over Lowe. But I’m sure there’s a plan but I do like the looks of Pierre with Oweh.

He looks like he can score the ball on his own, which is an area we lacked in last year for sure. He can shoot and do the other things we need. If he plays defense that would be great as well.

Fans may be holding out for Smith. But I would expect the coaches either know he is or isn’t entering, and can’t imagine they would hold out for someone they don’t know is entering.

Wonder if more players will enter the portal or the more elite players will after the 7th and the hearing?
Pierre, Johnson, oweh, yaxel & garrison sounds like a pretty good 5 to me then have chandler to sub in at the 2/3 spot along with Noah but I’m sure we add more at that spot. Would love to get Bowen and the RM guy but I fully expect chandler to break out next season and get closer to that POY form he was known for. He may even end up as our starting shooting guard, I feel he’s going to be huge for us next year.

As I understand it he didn't really play PG at Jax St., but maybe part of the pitch is you'll be the primary ballhandler in this offense and get a chance to show scouts how you look in that role... And from Pope's perspective he doesn't really ask the PG to initiate a lot of the offense so if it isn't Pierre's forte it's not really a constraint.

I love the size and athleticism, could play him at multiple spots given the situation and would pair nicely with Oweh, Johnson, Lewis, Chandler, and Williams in the backcourt and on the wing. I also like Riley from San Francisco. There are still plenty of good options out there and probably quite a few we don't know about yet. Would like to add a rim running/shot blocking big with a bunch like this and a good passing + 3 point shooting stretch 4. You never know for sure who can emerge as studs with the right coaching and with the right teammates.

Yep the minute he entered the portal I knew he was the one.

Now that we have the Williams kid, considering what we think we have coming back it seems to me we probably need 4 more from the portal. A PG, two bigs and a shooter. And I started to say, give me Pierre, Yaxel, the kid from Robert Morris and whatever shooter….and I’ll be happy. Then I realized, I can’t really say that. Cause I have no freaking idea. Didn’t know Williams, Pierre, Yaxel, the Robert Morris kid or 90% of the rest of them a week ago, don’t know who else might enter the portal in the coming days and weeks, don’t know what Pope thinks about any of them. So while the emotional frenzy of the internet will push me to be disappointed if Pierre goes elsewhere, I’ll try to not be.

The Smith thing is dead . We may never know if there was ever a chance for it to happen, but that rumor has been squashed.

Sounds like Pope wants Lowe and Pierre together.

Sounds like he wants to make sure we have plenty of guys that can run the Point.

1. Lowe
2. Lewis
3. Pierre
4. Johnson
5. Chandler
6. Perry

That would be solid depth at PG.

They are actually pitching for him to play off the ball

Lowe, Pierre, oweh, yaxel, garrison would be a pretty good starting 5 I believe.

Anything new on Bowen, Riley, or the RM kid?? I know it’s dead period but I’m sure it’s like the khsaa dead period & people still practice or for college still recruit.

Maybe he was needed to play that role last season but he was a volume shooter. He had 6 games that he shot less than 15 shots and took double figure shots in every game. I don't think we need him to come in jacking up 18-20 shots per game.

That would certainly be a smart takeaway from the past season.

Bowen to Bama
after the Gwath fiasco, wanted this kid at UK

Pierre, Lee, Oweh, Johnson. Chandler and Lewis would do a good job covering the perimeter. Williams, Oweh and Pierre can handle the three spot. Garrison, Moreno, Yacel and Kid from Robert Morris give a lot at the big spots. Williams and Noah will help at the four spot. Would like a bruiser to help the bigs but would roll with that bunch.
