The Monmouth Hawks Bench - having fun

Kentucky Basketball aside, this is my favorite thing so far in the 15/16 season.. maybe even the entire sports year. Definitely going to keep my eye on them if a game or two of theirs makes it on cable..

I remember the Cincinnati baseball team did something similar in post game interviews awhile back

It is fun if you're just watching it in highlights on ESPN. But if you're watching the whole game it gets mildly annoying after the first 3 or 4 times when they do it after ever single score.

1. You watch entire Monmouth games?
2. I haven't, but I can't imagine they do this after every score or we'd see it. They have 3-4 predetermined moves, and they wait for HUGE dunks or game-changing 3's.

It's hardly a big deal.

I watched their games against Notre Dame and Dayton at their tourney this weekend. And they did these things at least 10 times a game. Fun the first few times. Annoying seeing it times 3-10 and then watching replays of times 3-10.

I assume the coach is OK with it as long as it isn't a detriment to the game.

I bet it puts fans in the seats and generates excitement for the program

Monmouth ain't exactly a big draw. Although, I might be annoyed if I were a starter on that team, and the bench shows up on ESPN 500% more than the people making the baskets lol.

It's Monmouth. I doubt anyone is going to their games because of this. People that would go to a Monmouth game would be there anyway.

I didn't say they shouldn't do it. The annoying part is watching a replay of it and hearing the announcers go on and on about it. I'm sure if they make the tourney....which they might because they have an excellent little point guard who is about 5'6....then we will really see a lot of this in the opening round of the Big Dance.

Good, they better start practicing their moves..

They really just have Iona in their way for the NCAAT, very feasible for Monmouth to make it.

You quickly went from them doing it after every made basket to 3-10.

Which is it?

There's always one. [eyeroll]
