Every UK fan has heard the legends about Rupp getting a Cadillac and Bear Bryant getting a lighter or pocket watch when they both won the NC in 1951. It's essentially lead some of us to subscribing to the Curse of the Bear on our football program over the last several decades.
What I'm wondering is if we've finally exorcized that curse thanks to our previous coach. Going back to the infamous "we are a basketball school and need a new practice facility" rogue press conference from the Bahamas. After that faux pas, our AD made a strong commitment to the FB coach and eventually pushed out the overpaid basketball coach.
No gifts were given this time around, but MB made it clear he's not going to support sport favoritism. Does this finally get the football program over the hump and taking another step forward?
